The Ravines Golf Club
About
Ravines Golf Club is southwest Michigan's first Arnold Palmer signature course. The course is situated three hours outside of Detroit in Saugatuck. Thanks to wide fairways and generous landing areas, the layout is not as tough as it seems but it does have plenty of challenges in store. Strategically placed bunkers, mature trees, and wetlands all come into play throughout. There are some challenging holes on the front half, including the sixth and seventh, but the back nine opens with the golf course's toughest hole. The ninth is a long and difficult par 5 dogleg left where trees, water, and bunkers come into play. Ravines Golf Club's signature hole, though, is the par-3 17th, known for both its scenery and level of difficulty. This hole requires a risky shot over a ravine to one of the golf course's largest putting surfaces.

Challenging par 5 - tee shot over the ravine Photo submitted by u00000638985 on 06/03/2013
Awesome Course
I would play this course again in a minute, it was a well
maintained course and a good challenge. Going back after labor day to play again.
Excellent course
This is a beautiful course. Wide fairways and big breeds. Lots of bunkers and waste areas. On almost every hole you are hitting over swampy areas. Plays shirt from the white tees. At 6500 the Blues are a nice test for most good golfers.
I had a burger after golf and would advise against their restaurant. The waitress was nice but the burger was terrible.
Golf now deal
Love this course... Second time paying it and thanks to golf now for reasonable rates.
Great course but sneaky hard!
Such a fun and beautiful course! But don't get caught up observing the beautiful layout cause you'll find yourself in one of many perfectly place bunkers. Although some par 4's are short they make it tough to score. Course was in great shape.
Good Times and Good Score (for me)
Always a fun challenge- played the blues. Course was quiet so we were able to play quickly and beat the rain. Stay in the Fairway and its scoreable but trouble is in a lot of places.
Woth the Drive
This is a well maintained and challenging 18 hole course, two miles from Lake Michigan. The course is not walkable due to the namesake ravine, but it has a good flow from hole to hole. Greens are fast and true. This is a gem!
Shot makers paradise
Piece of land skillfully carved out of beautiful Michigan landscape offers the shot makers dream of hitting it close if in position off the tee. Not an overly long course, but if you put yourself in good position, many holes offer birdie opportunities. The greens are fast but fair, as long as you are on the right side of the flag. Fairways are pristine but a little slow the day I played early in the morning. They are probably faster as the day rolls on. I stayed in South Haven which is an easy drive up the interstate. A must play if in the Saugatuck/Douglas/Holland/South Haven area.
Excellent course
The course was in very good shape. There were few players out, so the pace of play was good. (Might be the hot weather kept people away). Friendly staff from bag boys, pro shop and restaurant. Throw in the "hot deal" price we paid, and this was a great value.
Good challenge on a great course!
Had a great experience at the Ravines. Friendly staff, great price, and a great course that rewards good shots. Better keep it in play or you will pay the price! I would definitely play here again!!
Beautiful course
Course is lovely. Greens were a little burnt up. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
My favorite
This is the best public course in our area. The Ravines has everything you will ever want. Contour, good sand traps, lots of trees, great layout, wide fairways, fair, fast challenging greens. It is a well run beautiful golf facility. I play it as much as I can
PERFECT Greens!
Course was in beautiful condition - greens were fast-fast-fast !! They didn't have any drink cart out on a gorgeous day was a bummer.
Slow play
There was a four tee time outing in front of us. By the time we finished it was a 5 hour round. Carts have GPS telling you how far behind the pace of play you are. I'm sure the club house was aware of which groups were the problem yet it never seemed to be addressed. We were a foursome and waited on every tee box and in most fairways. Terrible job by management. 10 th tee was open after the front so we proceeded to tee off and as we're in the fairway the group that was in front of us is now on 10 th tee. While on 11 th green management sent out a cart boy to tell us we needed to let the group 10 min. behind us play thru. They didn't have the guts to come out so they sent a kid.
Excellent course
Beautiful course & perfect weather. Greens are super fast but overall a great experience.
Great Course with a Friendly Staff!
The course was well maintained, and everyone working helped make it an enjoyable experience. Without a doubt I will be back to play here again!
Shot makers course in great shape!
Great track in fantastic condition. Greens were in great shape and were very fast. Worth every penny!
Well worth the drive! One of the nicest played ever!
Loved the course. Was in great shape. Fairways excellent and green roll nice and true! Lots traps but plenty of fairway to hit. Beautiful area!
Really solid course
We played for 55 a piece through golf now on a Wednesday morning. Practice facilities were very good. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Course was in very good shape. Many blind tee shots due to high grass/weeds. Greens were fast and difficult. Rough is penal. Pretty open off the tee but approach shots that are long or short are swallowed up by bunkers every time.
Pretty flat course but solid character. I do recommend!
Great course.
Fun and very pretty course to play. Close to Saugatuck .
Challenge and well laid out greens
GPS must for hitting to safe areas over tall grasses and wetlands. Oh, and hitting over ravines
