The Ravines Golf Club
About
Ravines Golf Club is southwest Michigan's first Arnold Palmer signature course. The course is situated three hours outside of Detroit in Saugatuck. Thanks to wide fairways and generous landing areas, the layout is not as tough as it seems but it does have plenty of challenges in store. Strategically placed bunkers, mature trees, and wetlands all come into play throughout. There are some challenging holes on the front half, including the sixth and seventh, but the back nine opens with the golf course's toughest hole. The ninth is a long and difficult par 5 dogleg left where trees, water, and bunkers come into play. Ravines Golf Club's signature hole, though, is the par-3 17th, known for both its scenery and level of difficulty. This hole requires a risky shot over a ravine to one of the golf course's largest putting surfaces.

Challenging par 5 - tee shot over the ravine Photo submitted by u00000638985 on 06/03/2013
Great day to play a great course
This was my first time playing this course and all I can say was this was one of the coolest courses I have played. The layout of the course was good and had some challenging holes. To get a great value for this course book your tee time through GolfNow.com and not the course. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend this course to anyone staying in this area.
Great course
The course conditions were extremely wet, but everything else was top notch.
Arnold Palmer Courses
Played several Palmer courses and have enjoyed all of them. This one was perhaps the most beautiful. Well kept with flowers and good landscaping.
Excellent course
This is a very challenging course. Plenty of opportunities to get in trouble.
Fast Round
Played on cool summer day and course was empty. Really enjoyed not having to wait on any shots!
Perfect conditions, gorgeous layout
I traveled to the area on vacation and was on the lookout for a place to place near Douglas/Saugatuck. Didn't dream I'd find an affordable round at an Arnold Palmer course and I'm so glad I did. It was probably the nicest course I've ever played, but the scenery was what made the experience unforgettable. I was able to snag a Hot Deal and get on for under $40, but I really think that I would've felt as if it was worth twice what I paid.
Great conditions
The conditions tee box through greens were hard to beat. The greens were fast and challenging but rolled really true and took approach shots in softly despite their speed. Overall I have no negatives. The course was enjoyable and challenging and with 5 tees playable for anyone who enjoys golf.
Great conditions
Entire course was in great shape from tee to green and everywhere in between. Greens roll real true and make for a good challenge. Be careful using your driver on a lot of the holes. You can out-drive the ideal landing area and get yourself in some trouble. Have a trusty 3-wood or 3-iron handy.
Narrow challenging
Strategy golf course. Many designed landing zones and narrow fairways. Challenging greens.
Great course and worth the money
We played 27 holes at The Ravines today and it was terrific. We played the first 18 in about three hours but the third nine was very very slow. We ran into four turtles and a five -some and none of them seemed to care that it took an hour to play the last 3 holes.
Challenging, fair and well maintained.
Course was in excellent condition. It is challenging but fair in its design and distance. The ravines throughout the course make some very pretty settings. I will play it again every time I am back in the area.
great course
We got a great rate and the course was in good shape. A few burn spots on very fast greens. Fairways were excellent and the course is beautiful. I would pay more to play it again.
Good golf experience
Beautiful course with great framing of the holes. Played the back tees so a couple of holes seemed tighter than the actually were. A second play or a good yardage book would have made the experience even better because we could have taken a more aggressive approach
A great play overall

The Ravines, Saugatuck, MI
course layout difficult for those unfamiliar with design. Very well kept - fast greens!!
Carry off tee important onto awesome fairways,
It is a great layout, featuring an important carry off most tees. The fairways are the best I have played. Unfortunately, this day they fertilized the greens, but I would expect they will be good in a couple of weeks. The 600 yard 14th is picturesque off the tee. Fairly long, as local courses go. As the name implies there are many hills/valleys to cross, probably not a good layout to walk. Definitely will return.
great day for golf
great course with alot of challenges in the course. have a great time playing golf with my son. alot driving on the pathways but awesome time.
Tough course on first round
Played this course for the first time on a Monday midday. It rained the entire round. Despite the wet conditions, however, there was no restriction to the cart path only and the greens remained amazingly well drained and still reasonably fast. Can only imagine what they would be like in better conditions! Course is tough with many lateral hazards especially for someone playing it for the first time.
the Ravines
Beautiful course. Definitely felt like I stole something getting to play this course for only $20.
Wonderful Course in SW Michigan
Really enjoyed the total golf experience.
Terrific practice facility if you arrive early.
Course was scenic and challenging.
Greens ran fast and true, a treat to putt on greens like this. I'll plan on recemmending this to other family members when we gather in South Haven.
