Elks Run Golf Club
About
Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia was designed by Greg Norman. It sprawls across 163 lush and secluded acres where golfers will be hard-pressed to find a home anywhere close to the course. Norman carefully utilized the natural terrain, incorporating the meandering creek on several holes and also adding a few holes that venture up the side of a hill. Thanks to the dramatic elevation changes, there are some tees where your ball seems to stay in the air forever. The first nine is more open with a traditional links-style layout that then leads to the more densely wooded back nine. In addition to the trees and other natural hazards, there is also an unusually thick first cut of rough as well as tall stands of native grasses.

Elks Run 9th Tee, short but challenging with a view of what is to come. Photo submitted by msparke on 10/25/2012
Elks Run
Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape given the weather. Bunkers were unplayable but that was due to the rain the night before. The greens were very beat up given the time of year. I would have expected the greens in better shape. I hope they address that before it gets too hot in the summer to recover them. If they don’t I would not be willing to pay the price to play the course.
Elks Fun
Easily one of the best public facilities in Cincy. They’ve successfully renovated numerous bunkers over the past 24 months.
Fantastic Course
This was my first time playing Elk Run Golf Club and I will definitely play it again. This was the 61st round of golf that I have played this year at 32 courses and Elk Run is my new favorite course. The course layout and design were great. Staff was super friendly. Pace of play was awesome too.
Excellent Course
I don't usually write a review but feel this is warranted.
I played Elks Run yesterday, November 8th and having played here many many times in the past, I have to say the course has never been in better shape!! Coudos to the ownership and maintenance staff for making this course one of the top courses in the area of Cincinnati. I play a lot of golf so I know what the other courses around Cincinnati have to offer. This has nothing to do with staff, but I wish golfers would repair their pitch marks!! It is sad to see a course this nice have these ball marks all over the green. Having said that, I will happily repair a few ball marks per green in order to enjoy this course. Keep up the great work!
Great Course, Eh Pro Shop Experience
Came from KY to play very nice track. SUPER fast greens but the best I’ve ever played on. Only complaints are for one, the young guy in the pro shop acted like I was an inconvenience that he had to get off the simulator to help me. I told him it’s our first time playing and if he had any tips he just said keep it in bounds. Get him out of the pro shop please? Secondly, there was so many groups of 1-2 people. Please group them up I shouldn’t have to wait 10 mins every time I get to hit. Other than that, it’s one of my new favorite courses I’ll definitely be back.
Course in great condition
The course was in great condition. Greens were fast and hard to hold in the afternoon. So play your wedges short and let them bounce to the pin. Really good value . Pace was slow .
Great greens dry course
Fun layout. Course is dry and hard but greens are in excellent shape
In good shape
Nice course, have played there many times over the past 2 or 3 years. Given that the area is experiencing a drought, I was surprised to see what good shape the fairways were in. Greens were good as they always are.
Golf Now Very Misleading
I have booked on line to play Elks Run several times the past several years & never had an issue. This year I booked via Golf Now & had a terrible experience. I booked a “hot deal”
on line that was supposedly better than calling the pro shop. The “hot deal” charged me $59.99 for each players (booked a foursome) plus a $14.04 “convenience fee”. It was anything but convenient. They immediately charged my credit card $254. Had I called the pro shop to book the tee time we would have gotten the $49 senior rate & no “convenience fee”. Golf Now cost us $58 MORE than calling for a tee time. One of the players in our foursome had to cancel due to a conflict. So we ended up being a threesome. We cancelled more than 48 hours in advance. 2 days after we played Golf Now has yet to reimburse me $64 for the cancelled 4th player. Using Golf Now was a total rip-off.
Please remove from Elks Run Golf Club. This is a Golf Now issue, not an issue with the Golf Club. Elks Run doesn't control Golf Now.
August 25th
Course was slow play out of the gates. Take 5 to 6 holes for pace of play to become acceptable.
The 2nd hole par 3 seem to bog the pace of play down

Hello and thank you for your 5-star rating! We're delighted you enjoyed your round. Please book another round with us soon, and thanks for choosing Elks Run Golf Club!
What is Going On Here??
For a normal rate of about $75, we got a rude starter, unbelievably slow play (no marshall), no beverage cart until the 17th hole, and a DJ with his Hummer parked next to the 10th and 12th teeboxes with music blasting across the course for our final 11 holes which took nearly 3 hours. The carts have GPS that will stop the cart if you enter "restricted" areas which apparently include cart paths and coming within 20 yatds of the No Carts Sign.
This used to be my favorite place to play, but with the outrageous greens fees (they still call themselves a championship course) and slow play, no one in my foursome have plans to return.
