Elks Run Golf Club
About
Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia was designed by Greg Norman. It sprawls across 163 lush and secluded acres where golfers will be hard-pressed to find a home anywhere close to the course. Norman carefully utilized the natural terrain, incorporating the meandering creek on several holes and also adding a few holes that venture up the side of a hill. Thanks to the dramatic elevation changes, there are some tees where your ball seems to stay in the air forever. The first nine is more open with a traditional links-style layout that then leads to the more densely wooded back nine. In addition to the trees and other natural hazards, there is also an unusually thick first cut of rough as well as tall stands of native grasses.

Will never play here again
Greens are awful. No signage so if you don't play here all the time good luck. Check in for Golf Now online - don't expect them to see it. Rained out after 3 holes, and when Golf Now called to confirm whoever was in the pro shop said there wasn't any rain. One guy I played with who didn't book with Golf Now got a rain check and the other guy who did got a course confirmation when Golf Now called.
Great Course with 1 major issue
I always have fun here. The layout is good for the most part and their fairways are in decent condition. My only complaint is the automatic shut off on the golf cart. They start the zone way too far out from the greens. They also have it extremely narrow on some of the whiles. My golf cart kept shutting off, even when I was in the fairway closer to the green and the signs that tell you to stop driving. For the love of God, please fix this.
Greens are pretty rough. Need to police people to repair their ball marks.
Poor course conditions
From the first green all thru 18, only 2 greens in putting shape!!
Horrible ball marks and spiked and marked up by far the worst green I have seen in awhile. Bunkers were hard packed and not even in playable condition. Tees boxes and fairways needed a cut felt like I was playing a country course not a country club course that they charge 70$ to play. We play courses all around Cincinnati and for the money very very disappointed in how they have let this course get so torn up and not maintained.
Beautiful course
Course was beautiful. Awesome layout. There were just two in our party and the foursome in front of us never offered to let us play through even though they were holding us up. So, it would have been nice if the ranger would have showed up at some point to speed up play.
Solid Course , Needs More Rangers
It’s in good shape, greens are a little beat up because of a lot of play. Never saw a ranger and we had a very slow group ahead of us that were 2 holes behind starting on the back 9. The last 9 took far too long.
Pace of play issues abound
Pace fell flat after about 2 holes due to a couple of groups just playing plain slow. No marshals. No attempt to allow play-through. Our group waited on every shot for 5+ hours. The course conditions are somewhat better than last year, although the greens could use some additional care due to overplay and public golfers generally not understanding what a ballmark repair tool is.
Overpriced
For $70 you’d think there would be water on the course.
Still has issues
I’ve probably harped on this before, but nothing has changed. Course is still not worth the regular asking price, only played here because of Golf Now Hot Deal. Course is not in that great of shape, weeds in bunkers, chewed up tee boxed and fairways, cart didn’t ever have sand in bottles for divot repair. And, speaking of carts, they need to get rid of the damned GPS units in carts, or get them calibrated. they repeatedly won’t let you go to your ball in areas that are obviously not sensitive areas, playing partners had tl have shop staff come get their cart unlocked so they could continue play, this is unacceptable and unnecessary……..just infuriating.
