About
Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia was designed by Greg Norman. It sprawls across 163 lush and secluded acres where golfers will be hard-pressed to find a home anywhere close to the course. Norman carefully utilized the natural terrain, incorporating the meandering creek on several holes and also adding a few holes that venture up the side of a hill. Thanks to the dramatic elevation changes, there are some tees where your ball seems to stay in the air forever. The first nine is more open with a traditional links-style layout that then leads to the more densely wooded back nine. In addition to the trees and other natural hazards, there is also an unusually thick first cut of rough as well as tall stands of native grasses.

Early Season
It's a good course. I play it frequently. Conditions were not ideal but it's March in Ohio. The greens were slower than usual and fairways were bumpy due to spit seeding but they will heal up quickly. Some improvements over last season were apparent. Some of the bunkers have been improved but the fairway bunkers need more attention. They added sand to most but not all and they all need sand. They cut some brush on certain holes in areas that are L and R of fairways, making it easier to find a ball and actually have a recovery shot at times.
Great course. Some bunkers are “ground under repair” or it would have been rated 5 stars on course condition. It is in really good shape for February.

Always a good time
Beautifully laid out, challenging, fun. Course was in excellent condition. Pace of play improved greatly once a foursome let our two pass on hole 3. Had a great round.

Nice FALL Golf
Everything was great except the pace. Would like to have seen a ranger. The carts have GPS so the pro shop could see where the slow groups and backups were. Wish they'd sent a ranger out to keep things moving.

Great course always in good shape
Slow play foursome in front of thought they were props or something took forever to get off the green they tee off back tees and we’re all over the place waited on every hole.

Double charged
They tried to not honor my prepaid golfnow tee time and charged me for an additional 9 holes

Liked the course conditions overall
Everything good except the bunker conditions.
Not enough sand and players ahead didn’t rake the traps after they were finished.
