Tough course
This is not an easy course, in fact it is totally in forgiving. If you are playing this course for the first time I recommend you drive the entire course in your cart and make notes. The fairways are very undulating and feed off on both sides. There is not a flat spot on any green. I am not trying to discourage anyone from playing this course, I am just saying be prepared. The staff and clubhouse are great, Hugh bar that severs breakfast, lunch and dinner with a spacious screened in porch where you can enjoy a cigar. Let me say one more thing about the course, we played the first four holes before a lightning and heavy rain storm and the rest of the round in a steady drizzle. There was not one drop of standing water anywhere on the course. It was like hitting shots off of fine carpet. I got my but kicked today but I am going back for more .
Ready for a challenge?
This is a fun course to take on. My Son and I are high handicap golfers and we were paired with a twosome playing a best ball round. We decided to do the same just to move along. We were glad that we did. We enjoyed challenging the course and kept ourselves from the frustration of a very high score.
Kiva Dunes may be more beautiful than Pebble....
My Golfing Buddy had played Pebble Beach...He said Kiva was More Beautiful..
Good challenge for average golfers
Good mix of par 4’s and pin placements. Course needs a Marshall that moves slow groups along more affectively.
The course should review its price point for golf in my opinion rounds are $10-20 too high for this time of year.
Great Experience
Loved the course. It is very fair. It has sand and water but is not set up to be tricky or extremely hard. Was in great shape. Great Course for first timers and average golfers. Greens are fast but roll true. We had a 8am tee time and finished in under 4 hours. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A Marshall and the cart girls made regular passes throughput the round. We are tourists and will definitely play this every year. It is a little pricey but worth the splurge. We did see three alligators including a 4 footer ON the cart path so I would be aware. Searching.for golf balls in the marshes not a great idea.
I love this course.
I always enjoy play at Kiva Dunes. Mike our at entry is extremely welcoming.
Great shape
It helps to know the course a little before playing. Greens are large and very fast but also very true. Many traps and some hazards to hit over. Good layout with most holes being different from the others. Greens make the course fun to play. Because it could be difficult for average golfers, play is slow. Major downside is the price.
Impeccable Conditions
Greens were some of the best I’ve ever played, true and lightning quick with fun complexes
Fun Course!
Kiva is a fun course. Not long at all with challenging, undulating greens in many cases. Conditions were really good and the staff that I had interactions with were great. Would definitely play again.
Always enjoy
I don't get to play Kiva alot but I do love playing it when I get a chance.
A very good course,Above average for a resort
Above average for a resort course. It is tougher than the other resort courses. The traps are not all the same sand. The powder ones are very difficult. Good golfers 9 or less will enjoy green challenges , the rest of us it’s golf.. what you Should be looking for
Wind can make more difficult
Excellent golf course. If you want to be rewarded for a shot in the fairway it’s here. Very plush and green course, if you stay in the fairways. The staff does a great job of maintaining course. Unless they are making repairs or something you should bee pleased.
Beautiful Course
This course if extremely well maintained. Green, fairways and tee boxes are in perfect condition. Course map with distances are very helpful for first time player of the course. Our pace of play was right on time.
Well kept course, Huge Greens & Fairways....My kind of course.
