Palm Desert Resort Country Club

I booked a midday tee time as a single and proceed to show up 25 minutes early for my round. I go into pro shop and there is a line of about 6 women waiting to check in. Man behind desk was having computer issues so things were moving slow, no big deal I get it. I eventually get checked in and head down to the starter 8 minutes before my tee time, only to see a large group of senior women (about 16 total) all huddled at the tee box getting ready to start. I ask the starter what’s going on and he says they’re members and I will have to wait for them to tee off and finish hole 1 to start my round, basically pushing my tee time back 45 minutes. I politely tell the starter that I won’t accept that and I paid for that tee time and they need to honor it. That’s when the leader of the senior women’s league comes up to me and says they’re going to start and I’m displaying poor golf etiquette by not showing up 30 minutes before my tee time. I’m a relatively young guy, 32, but have been playing golf since I was 9 and put the respect of other golfers at the forefront of all my rounds. Stealing my tee time because you’re a member and want to start your girls club tee times 15 minutes early isn’t my idea of proper golf etiquette. Proper etiquette would be letting a single play through especially if his tee time is before yours. I was forced to skip ahead to hole 2 and pair up with a couple that also got sent out before me despite having a tee time after me. I also got yelled at by a Marshall on hole 10 for driving on the fairway even though the starter never mentioned cart path only (probably because there are no cart paths in the middle of every hole). Overall, the course is pretty and well maintained. But the staff and members and their stuffy attitudes will keep me from coming back. If you’re going to play whenever you want, then don’t make the course open to the public!

The course was fun with Vinny variations in the holes. But lack of course marshals made the pace of plate, truly suffer.

Hit a six iron from the blues over the pond on Number 6 dead to the stick couldn't find the ball. Never looked in the cup. I wonder.

Lots of spectators as you play between the houses. Well maintained all around.

They played very slow. Had to really hit the putter hard on most shots.

2nd day open after overfeeding... cart path only which was adhered by most players. Unfortunately some people cannot understand &/or comprehend a simple request...& they will be the 1st to complain

Staff was attentive & accommodating

Limited yardage markers,very difficult to see the ones that were there.Was told after we finished front 9 that carte had to be returned in 90 minutes so only played 14 holds as play was very slow. Saturday afternoon ,no cart selling refreshments and snack after 9 already closed.course was in nice shape.very dissappointing!
