Palm Desert Resort Country Club

Had early 6:32 tee time and arrived at the pro shop at 6:32 am, but as we all know I was late. Cart boy let me play back nine solo. It was great, quick, but no flags, which hurt my score. At the Tuen I waited to get a slot, and was behind the men’s group. No worries, I already had 9 holes behind me, which helped with my patience. Played the back very relaxed and scored very well, but had two lip outs. Tee hexes were well taken care of, and the greens were recently rolled and in great shape. This course has improved substantially, and if you can get a good tee time, and price, it’s a fun track that you can score on.

At $50ish in the desert, can’t have much in the way of expectations, BUT this was much worse than my round here about a month ago. 5+ hour round. No GPS. No drinking water on course. No starter, just a cart kid (doing his best). 3 groups deep on first tee that had to sort out the order. No marshall on course. Groundskeeper ran mower over ball in fairway. ‘Nuff said.

Pros:

- ice chest & ball washer on cart

- scorecard has property/holes layout

- scorecard has water/bathrooms on holes

- check in directly with starter, didn’t need to go to pro shop

- fairway in great condition

Cons:

- no GPS

- pro shop closed at 2pm

Sharon met us near the first tee, was very cheerful and informative. She got us a cart and we hit a few at the range before we started on time. The course is not difficult and we finished under 4 hours. The greens were great with some subtle breaks. I missed a lot of putts by inches. It was the perfect way to start the day!

Course management permitted a group of 6 to play together. This made for a 5 hour round. Should NEVER have been allowed. ⛳️ Because there is no marshall, a group of 3 jumped in front of us while we were using the restroom between 9 & 10. ⛳️ Maintenance crews were watering several greens and fairways throughout our round. ⛳️ Several times we were held up by non golfers walking in the middle of the fairways. ⛳️ The smell of pot emanated from many of the condo patios.⛳️ Pricey for a plain old ordinary tract. Nothing special.

Greens were in great condition as were the fairways. The bunkers while properly groomed need more sand. Overall a solid course

3rd time playing this course in last 1.5 weeks. Fair long enough, fairways and greens beautifully kept up would recommend anyone coming down here to play this course. And food in the bar restaurant is very good 👍
