2nd hole, , Blue course, Par3 Photo submitted by Manon1416068 on 12/12/2019
Beautiful course
Absolutely love this course got teamed up with an awesome group. The starter was a great guy, the course was well maintained even out the rough.
Great Value !
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape
Off course is/was undergoing renovations around cart paths and such. These things are to be expected during this time of year.
Overall very pleased with everything
Can't beat the cost ( maybe reflecting the renovations) it has been 4 years since last visit but won't wait that long to go back
GPS problem
My only complaint was the GPS was not turned off so we could get closer to the greens and the ball in certain situations. I had asked after the first nine if the could adjust it or turn it off because the fellow I was with is 88 years old and the temperature was over 90. I gave them the cart number and they said we were all set However that was as not the case. My friend sat out 3 holes on the back nine. The heat and his age were taking their toll. The staff was very friendly and I think the fellow behind the counter was very busy and the adjustment was not made.
Myakka Pines Red/White
I always enjoy playing Myakka Pines. The only problem with this course is they allow walkers in the early am and this really slows the pace of play. The greens had not completely healed during my visit but should be in good shape once they are rolled and finish healing. Fairways were coming along nicely after some much needed rain. Most of the staff were kind and made you feel welcome but a few were cold.
Course in good shape
Despite floods earlier in the week, the course was in good condition with the exception of the sand traps. The sand bunkers felt like someone had fluffed them up and were so soft that balls got buried 3 inches under the surface. Very hard to get out. Course was challenging as always.
Senior & son
It's over 90 degrees and no ice water is available on the course. Bathrooms are out of order. People play golf not camels. The course is busy and you charge enough to provide basic needs.
HOLE IN ONE!
I like playing Myakka Pines at “twilight” aka 3pm or later. Beware practice range closes at 3pm. What I like about Myakka is it’s unlike any other course around where you won’t see a single house or road… you are in the wilderness. Surrounded by dinosaurs! lol. I played the Red Course followed by the white course, which are both 9 holes. They also have a 9 hole blue course. It’s a shorter playing course than some so I will switch it up and play the number 2 tees and 3 tees depending on what I’m trying to work on. Seeing as how I’m a high handicapper… my app claims 15-16… but I’m prob more like an 18-20 , I need to work on it all! Haha. But on the 17th hole I played, the 8th hole on the white course, playing from 173 yards with the score card reading 180, I hit 7-iron for a Hole In One. Pretty cool! So OF COURSE I will be back haha.
Great course
From greeting to final putt, the staff, the course layout, and pace of play were all good and professional. We'll be back again.
Congratulations Chad on your hole in one. Typically our range is open until the last tee time of the day. Recently our picker cart had an issue and we've had to result to using our utility cart which doesn't have shields to pick the range. We'll have our picker back in service soon so you can get warmed up for that next Hole in One!!!
