Pace of Play
The people at PW are amazing and the course is hard to beat. PW is known for stacking the tee times and this was no different. The round took right at 5 hours.
Excellent Round of Golf
Although aeration is underway the course is in great shape. Enjoyed and highly recommend.
Poor course management
Course was in great shape. Surprising given how dry it’s been. But they scheduled/allowed a five-some in front of us. Who does that, especially on a busy holiday weekend. To make it worse, no field marshals managing pace of play. Took 2.5+ hours on front nine.
Greens are just not fair. To much slope ever direction. If you are not below hole you cannot make a putt.
You can have a 6 ft side hill or down hill putt and it will run 20 ft past hole.
Just my thoughts -
Great Staff/Nice Course
The starter is always a great guy. My wife loves to play here. The course was in VERY good condition and pace of play was acceptable. We were paired with a good group and had a relaxing round. The Bride beat me again but other than that its always a great time at Prince William.
First Time Prince William
We showed up early hoping to have something to eat before going to the range and then playing. Unfortunately there isn’t much of a selection.
Putting that aside the staff was friendly and the course was in good shape. A fairly open layout and sand filled bunkers made the day enjoyable.
Will definitely came back and play the course again!
Nice course but slow pace of play
I played at Prince William both on Saturday and Sunday this past weekend, and really enjoyed it. However, the pace of play was very slow. Constantly had to wait to tee off on every tee both days.
You get what you pay for here. Tee boxes are uneven. Rough isn’t all that rough. Greens have a bunch of slope and are small for the most part. Hard to loose a ball, pretty wide open. If you miss a fairway you just play from the one next to you.
Great Course
Overall course is in great shape. One or two greens and tee boxes were a bit rough. They have a cart girl which is convenient but limited food at the club house.
Honest Review
I’m about a 12 handicap and my first time playing this course. What I’ll say first is knowing this layout is key, when and when not to take driver, be long/short on second shots, and where to aim on tee shots. This isn’t a particularly hard course for someone who has played here before but I found it a challenge! The greens are probably the most challenging part of this course, nothing is flat, everything breaks and breaks a lot. They all slope back to front violently. I could miss a 4 footer and end up 9 feet past the hole. Overall I enjoyed it. Tee boxes, greens, and fairways are in great shape, best bang for you buck in the area. I put it on the same level as brambleton. If you get a solid price, go check it out!
