Wolf Creek Golf Club
About
For golfers who want real desert, making the 80-minute drive from Sin City's high-tech neon to Mesquite's low-tech neon is a road to travel.
For in Mesquite, there's not just old ladies at old-time slots. There's Wolf Creek Golf Club, an exceeding tough golf course where you might just run into a real-life road runner. This course features true desert canyons and all the wildlife that scampers across them.
The second tee box is 11 stories up. That's right, 11 stories up. Fantastic vision was encouraged at this Arnold Palmer design with helicopters being used to cart some of the rocks around and build higher holes. The bunkers are filled with crushed granite, providing another unique playing experience.
Wolf Creek was built to put Mesquite golf on the map. It succeeded.

Golf Mecca
I play this course every June on a buddy trip, it is always the highlight of the trip. But went back to play again in October, more expensive than June but still worth the price. We play Conestoga, Coyote Springs and Sand Hollow on the trip in june as well. Wolf is my all time favorite course, elevation changes, its just beautiful. Every tee box is worth taking a picture and the course is in great shape in June. Can get a little hot in June but its very affordable that time of year. I would recommend this course to everyone.
Make the drive!
Yeah, you're in Vegas for a reason. It's a long drive. You don't think you want to take the time. Just stop.
Get in the car and go. If you are a golfer, this course is like a cotton candy treat.
Elevations you will not see anywhere else.
not worth the price
very pleasing to the eye, greens were slow, staff needs a lesson on customer service, starting with the outside crew,no GPS, not offered a yardage book, come on, for $180, throw one in!!! maybe not mowed recently but rough was brutal, irons-only driving range, sure...we're going to hit an airplane!?
A Dangerous Beauty!
Stopped here with 3 buddies on our way from LV to St. George for a 4-day golf trip. So glad we did! This was the most scenic of the 7 courses we played in 5 days.
Definitely recommend a stop & play if you're on your way through or, a drive from LV to play. It's one of the most memorable courses I've ever played, including 100+ rounds in Hawaii, Kiawah, & Bandon Dunes. Although different, it ranks with them.
Concur with all the comments about the beauty; bring your camera. Also bring dramamine if you get sea sick; the vertical change and winding, switchback cart path will tickle your tummy.
Course was in excellent condition. Moderately fast greens the day we played but, clearly can be made faster. Requires lots of target shots, most with elevation changes (up & down); this is what makes the course challenging. Miss your target & you're in the desert or worse.
Staff was super. They knew we were chasing the sunset with a 2pm tee time & helped us get in all 18 in <4hrs before dark. I will definitely play here again if I'm in the area.
Incredible golf course
First of all, this is the most picturesque course I've played in my life. Could not keep the camera out of my hand. Secondly the course is challenging but extremely fair. Tough carries but there is room to miss and is not overly punishing. Greens were absolutely perfect. The sand is perfect and plays extremely well. Fantastic golf course all around. Could not recommend this course more. Absolutely worth the quick 75 minute drive from the Vegas strip. We had high expectations coming in to the round, and can honestly say it exceeded our expectations in every way.
Only Augusta can beat it!
We play here each time we visit Las Vegas from the Mid-West. If we could give the course 100 starts we would. This course is spectacular and no picture can suffice for its beauty. Every hole is a picture. You have to play here. Everywhere else is a second to this place.
Wolf Creek is exceptional
What else can be said. It is a breath taking course with excellent conditions, fast greensand white sand bunkers. Position is everything. A pricy course but worht being played. It is an exceptional golf experience.
The course that God made!!!! AMAZING!!
You have to experience this for yourself!!! The staff is amazing and the course is a "once in a lifetime" kind of experience! You really do have to see it to believe it!!
I took pics with my iPhone… really!!
If you're ever near Las Vegas… or within 5 states… or heck… anywhere West of the Mississippi River… Find Wolf Creek in Mesquite!!
It's the course you'll try to describe for years to come!!
Thank you Wolf Creek for an unforgettable day!
Panoramic Golf and Views
My first round of 2015 was Wolf Creek Golf Club in Mesquite. Scenic, Picturesque, Breathtaking. All of the above.
I may have spent more time appreciating the views than anything else. And that's OK. Being from the midwest, I had never seen anything like it. At one point, we felt like we were somehow playing golf around the Grand Canyon. We played most of the round into a swirling headwind, but that did not change our thoughts.
Wolf Creek takes elevation changes to a new level. At some points I felt almost uneasy on a few of the elevated tee boxes- but somehow survived. There's a definite feeling like you are on top of the world.
My only disappointment (which is minor overall) was that the driving range was for irons only. I used my driver on almost every par 4/5, so I would have liked a little warm up beforehand.
Wolf Creek is an experience I would recommend to any golfer who gets the chance.
Always a challenge
Wolf Creek was in excellent shape.....greens were a little slower than anticipated however I understand they completely reseeded the greens about a year ago....and pleased they did that. The $175 green fee rack is steep however Wolf Creek is a one of kind adventure. The difficulty of the course and walking all the steep banks up and down coupled with just driving between golf holes the course always suffers from slow play. Since this is a "bucket list" course there are a lot of folks who have no business even being at this course and if you're a 15 or above you may well exceed a 100 stroke score probably by about the 14th hole (or even earlier). The course is incredibly scenic but punishing physically and mentally most especially for first timers with extreme elevation changes, forced carries, water hazards, bunkers, etc. Clubhouse has very good food and a good bar. Pet peeve is driving range is irons only. A nice finishing 18 for our bi-annual Mesquite trip.
Beautiful course with some tight shots
Had trouble keeping the camera in the cart. VERY scenic golf course. Highly recommend Wolf Creek. Quite a few blind shots, so the next round will be easier, but the views and uniqueness to this place more than made up for that. Staff incredibly friendly, starting with the bag drop. Must play if your in LV. Only about an hour away. Tremendous conditions all around.
A must
When in LV, you must take the drive to Mesquite. A simply wonderful course, regardless of the price.
You Have to Play This Course
Gotta see it to believe it - simply the most incredible course I have ever played. Carved right out of, and into, the surrounding canyons, every hole has a spectacular view and you don't know whether to grab a club or a camera. Huge elevation changes on most holes, brutal desert rough, water, sand, this course has everything.
One downside - extremely pricey! We took the cheapest twilite we could find and still paid $155 each. Hate to think what the regular rate is, but just might be worth it to play this course once.
Wolf Creek Golf Club: A beautiful Mesquite monster
The first time I played Wolf Creek, I kind of despised it. I came to love its dramatic challenges the second time around.
It takes at least one round to figure out how to maneuver through the 6,932-yard maze of canyons, ridges and cliffs of red rock 90 miles from the famous Las Vegas Strip. It might be the most picturesque inland course on the planet. Bring your camera and a few extra balls.
Wolf Creek, which opened in 2000, plays so tough that visitors rarely come within five strokes of their handicap. Anybody with a 12 handicap or higher should play the 5,798-yard white tees, which play longer than advertised.
Wolf Creek reminds me of an amusement park ride. It's a heart-stopping thrill - albeit exhausting - to play.
Gagoots,
I appreciate you taking the time to review Wolf Creek. However, I wish you would have been more specific on our customer service or lack thereof as you suggest. Not sure the point you are trying to make with the rest of your comments. We do have an excellent GPS app, the rough is named rough for a reason and yes we do have a airport at the end of our driving range that is a concern. We are far from perfect but I think those that read review will see your comments for what they are.
