Conestoga Golf Club

About
Located about an hour northeast of Las Vegas, Conestoga Golf Course tumbles across the desert canyons and arroyos of Mesquite. Gary Panks, the course's designer, wanted to create a course that looked as though it had been forged over time by nature. By utilizing the desert landscaping and natural washes, the result was a stunning layout that is as scenic as it is challenging. The rolling topography covers a range of elevation changes, providing not only tricky uneven lies but also views of the surrounding canyons. The course is enhanced even further with interesting rock outcroppings that are interspersed across the landscape and several different water features. In addition to the natural hazards, Panks incorporated over 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout Conestoga Golf Course. It is formidable, but the course has five sets of tees to accommodate a wide range of skill levels.

Best in Mesquite
Although it is offseason, this golf course is very playable and in great shape. The greens were punched but we expected that when we played. MUST PLAY!
Poor Maintenance
Fairways and rough are cut too short. From the fairways it is like hitting off the dirt. The mowers have scalped a lot of the fairways as a result the course is roped off on many holes. This causes slow play . The management doesn't seem customer oriented. The driving range is closed at 11:00 Am.
Best course in Mesquite!
Great layout, service and overall experience. Highly recommend.
Pace of play is horrible
Although a good course pace of play is at least 5 1/2 hours because staff is not permitted to speed up play. Nothing is enjoyable about a 5 1/2 hour round of golf. Private owners of the course care only about making money.
Amazing!!!!!
Great layout, but in poor shape
This is a great layout. It is my favorite course in the area and the only one I would enjoy playing every day. However, the course is in poor condition. The current ownership is failing this beautiful course. The maintenance crew do not seem to understand what they are doing. Every time they get a part of the course in good shape, they do something to make it bad again. The greens were finally in very good shape, so they aerate (10 weeks before they shut down to overseed). They waited too long to kill out the Rye overseed to get the Bermuda grass to come back in, so there are many bare or patchy areas. The hole cuts are poor and they don’t really think through where they place them. Just so many things they could do or do better. The course was run by Troon originally and it was in amazing shape (one of the best courses in the state), but with current ownership and course management, it is a hollow shell of its former great self.
Sanded greens
Should have been told greens were sanded before paying so I could have had a chance to play another course. Very disappointed!
Beautiful vistas!
The course and practice range is phenomenal. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There are a few holes that are tricky to play and the Marshall explained them in case we played the course for the 1 st time.

Rode the Silvers (6378/71.0/127) in 5H, 10M with 3 nice guys. 65, overcast and windy. Consistent 20-30 mph wind with gusts to 50 made for some ridiculous golf shots.
Front 9 is tighter and more target golf. Back 9 more wide open. Many elevation changes, tremendous views of the surrounding red mountains and some of the most impressive boulder retaining walls I have ever seen. Numerous shots where you have to stay short of a canyon/ravine, which is challenging in the wind with all the elevation changes.
Tees lush with few unfixed divots.
Fairways and Rough both lush. Fairways gave lots of roll and the Rough was consistently 2-3".
Sand was well maintained with high quality sand.
Greens were firm and putted medium speed. Nothing tricked up, I saw the lines well here.
Customer service outstanding from everyone. Drink cart came by numerous times. Complementary water in your cooler and range balls on an all grass range. Large clubhouse that included a busy restaurant/bar. One of the few negatives was no GPS on the carts. Really liked the layout, conditions and service were both great. Highly recommended.
great t boxes
The course is great and challenging. The t boxes are mostly elevated and t shots are intimidating. Great fun!
Excellent Track/Awesome Service
The course was immaculate and for my level Very Difficult and I wouldn't have changed a thing. I may play up if I go again but it was spectacular from the Whites. The manager was fantastic. I left a sweater behind after golf and he claimed to have found it but when I returned it was misplaced. He offered me a pick of my choice from the golf shirts in the pro shop. I was quite surprised and impressed.
Great Layout in Decent Dhape
This is a scenic course has a variety of great holes that wind through canyons. Views of the surrounding mountains are nice. Accuracy off the tee is a must do you have the best chance to hit the greens. Overall the greens and fairways appear to be recovering well from punching. Although not perfect the whole course is very playable. The range one shop were very good and staff very nice. This is a must play in Mesquite
Horrible greens and conditions
Played in a tournament here today. Fairways sparse and greens longer than shag carpet of the 70’s.
Sun and water which are both abundant are not even enough. Was told by staff conditions were directly related to a cost cutting implemeted
Seriously the slowest unkept greens I’ve played in over 20 years.
What potential. Shame to see the neglect.
Not typical of a Troon managed Golf facility
Rough Greens
Green damage from heat. Hard to put on most greens. Plugged fairways, not much sand in bunkers. Course condition not good.
Conestoga
They told us before we even started that the greens were bad. And that was the issue. There at of this course is gorgeous. They haven’t control over the weather and if it burns the grass. At least the golf shop was up front about it . We will be back
excellent!
played here may 17, 2020 course was in great shape, a good challenge without being too difficult. seemed like a slightly scaled down version of the wolf creek course which was great. beautiful course, gentleman at tge pro shop was very friendly and sent us out early. great experience here and will definitely play here again next visit to mesquite. 5 stars for unique course and fantastic service
first time for desert golf
This was my first experience with desert golf and it was just great. It was even better after playing a couple other courses later in the week. The 4th hole was tough because of indecision and lack of knowing the course. I get the concept after seeing the hole and how it had to be built.
