Very enjoyable course
This course was in very good condition and the greens were very good, fast and true. The layout and setting on a hillside is very appealing. The holes are varied and interesting with reasonable challenge on each hole. The course is very playable for any level player. I enjoyed this track and would play it again.
Ingleside
The course is very mature and well maintained...has beautiful views of the mountains and is fun to play.
Needs maintenance
Fairways needed mowing, had trouble finding balls in the fairways and rough. Grass was weedy and dead in areas, needs reseeding. Greens were in nice shape. The Resort is closed and apparently being torn down. Whole place needs a makeover.
Good value for the money
Course is pretty well maintained. Greens are good. Nothing fancy but an enjoyable experience.
The course layout is good, but maintenance is poor.
While the folks in the clubhouse are friendly, and the general layout of the course is very nice with some great views, the condition of the course is not the greatest. The sandtraps are not very well maintained, and there is quite a bit of clover in the fairways. On a good note, the grill at number 10 serves up a great hot dog.
Rough Hill Course
Practically every shot is up or down hill. Fairways are need significant maintence. Greens were in pretty good shape. Concession cart young lady took off early and no water on course, so take your own. On #3, you tee off over entry road which was wierd.
We played on Labor day for $15 thanks to Golfnow.com, which helped ignore the rough fairways.
Fair for the money
Green roll well. Fairways are patchy with various types of grasses and weeds. We played "winter rules".
Nice Course, not much else there though!
Got there and realized it is a resort from the 50's that is falling/shut down, there is nothing there but a small pro shop and the course. The course is super hilly, no flat holes, you are either going up the hill or down the hill. Good mix of holes, some long some short but all were a test in one way or the other. A lot of risk-reward! Greens were fast, 10 stimp, somewhat hard to read but in good shape. For the $20 I paid on Golf Now on a Saturday at 2:00 pm it was well worth it. Met and played with some very nice local guys who treated me wonderful! Overall great trip, take the time and go see for yourself, I think you will like it. Oh yea, the views are amazing of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the local area.
Well maintained course. Couse has improved greatly ovef last 2 years.
Much better playing conditions . Course had seen better days but is much improved and fun to play. Easy to get tee times and reasonably priced.
Very beautiful course.
I enjoyed this course very much. But you have to be careful you keep the ball on the fairway due to the long fescue which makes up the rough. I would really like to play this course again.
Not bad a crouse.
Crouse not too bad but stay out of the rough lol.paths could use alot of work but everything esle in good shape.
Needs to update course.
The tee times were set too close to each other and there are no restrooms after you leave the pro shop. They do have a refreshment cart running. They need to have a marshall on the course to speed up the pace of play. Too much wait time on tee boxes and fairways for people to get off greens. Sand traps need to be worked on.
This course is in great shap
My overall experience was good. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that there were no beverages offered after teeing off. The concessions were closed and there wasn't a cart person available. The fact that is was 93 degrees didn't help the matter.
fun course
it was a fun course, the tee times were a little close together in my opinion, a little crowded. But all in all a good experience. the people helping at the grill on the 9th hole were extremely nice and helpful. will definitely play again
Good value course
First and third holes might make you wonder but hang in there as it is all uphill from there. Very good winter fairways with greens in excellent condition. Much needed snack bar under construction. No restroom on course that doesn't return to culbhouse until 18th.
Nice layout and friendly staff
I got an extraordinary rate for this course, and couldn't pass it up. The course is in fair condition considering the time of year, especially the greens, which I thought were in very good shape....nice layout and all holes were open. Fairways are in need of looking after, and are rough, but a nice course and friendly staff. Worth the time...definitely.
nice course for spring or summertime play
alot of holes were closed but not made aware of until after we payed, also some of the holes were confusing as to were the tee boxes were and the # 3 hole had a green on the left and right. We thought it played to the right when actually it went left.
Very hilly course and greens all slope from back to front so leave the ball below the hole if possible.
It's hard to beat the price and the pace of play was pretty fast for a rainy day. The course was in pretty good shape for late October. I will play it again if I get the chance and I would be remiss if I didn't mention the lady at counter was super nice; we actually were allowed to tee off about 30 minutes early which was great.
Beautiful views and open fairways with a few surprises.
Discovered this "oldie but goodie" course late this summer and have returned again and again.
The course is in overall good condition and the greens are challenging (like a fast roller coaster!). The yellow (ladies) tee boxes are not as level as they could be, but hey it's golf!
this course would be great for a beginner golfer
course in great shape and greens were fantastic. lay-out was great.
