Lakeview Golf Club - Mountain Course

The only issue that we had was with the Ranger. He followed our 4-some around for the first 10 holes. Stopped at the pro shop at the turn, for beverages and sandwiches. Upon teeing off on the 10th, he had the nerve to pull up and then stand by the tee box as we all teed off. Upon asking what the issue was, he mentioned pace of play. Our response was that we stopped, which he knew - he sat there the entire time we were in the pro shop. No one was behind us the entire back 9. The only person who caught us on the front 9 was a single, who we let play through.

After reading online reviews, I went by the course to see it myself. It was better than advertised. That evening, I booked a tee time for a Wednesday. Is Lakeview a "Country Club"? No. Is it pristine? No. It is a great course for the any golfer who doesn't want to pay crazy money to play golf. The layout is great! Lots of challenges - some elevated tee boxes hitting down sloped fairways. Others, teeing off up a fairway without seeing the green. Most holes are open. Some are tree lined. Some have rolling fairways, some more flat. There are water hazards and strategically placed sand traps. Vegetation under the tree-lined fairways is trimmed (only lost one ball). Beautiful scenery - with the mountains off in the distance! Some fairways are laid out in the "backyards" of upscale homes. Overall, a better than average course for any golfer.

I enjoyed the course layout. Had to play around some construction. The Gnats were so thick they seemed to love the insect repellent. The gnats were so many it made the round unpleasant.

Pre-paid through GolfPass. Was paired up with three other great golfers with similar level of play. The camaraderie was great. After the 18 on Mountain and Peak courses I played the Lake course and it was great. Last time I played was approximately 20 years ago. It was as if I was playing a new course. Sam was great to work with. Thank you so much for a good experience. I don’t get to play as much as I would like to.

Home away from home when visiting Massanutten annually.

We played Lakeview twice this week and enjoyed the 9-hole course combination each time. Each course is different and presents its own challenges, making a fun round of golf!

The course was in great shape; greens, fairways, sand. Pace of play was good. Ranger checked on us twice, very friendly. Had a beer in the clubhouse when we were finished. We will be back soon. Highly recommended.

From the staff to the course everything was perfect! My friends and I enjoyed a fantastic day on the course. The greens were in incredible shape!

Played the mountain & peak courses. Both were in very good condition. Greens are fast and also excellent condition. Will definitely will play again.

Not sure how they do it but we have never been disapointed in Lakeview. The course gets a lot of play but always is well cared for.

This course is in great shape and very high caliber. We played Mountain and Peak and were very impressed that the fairways rough and greens are all grown out and well groomed. We will be back

Would not give me my own cart. Made me ride with another person in our foursome.
