18 hole at Sherman Hill GC Photo submitted by Gilbert3585586 on 05/24/2013
The back nine needs fixing !!!!!!
I really love this course. The layout for Florida is so hilly and so beautiful. Yes the back nine greens are in need of fixing and according to the maintenance dept they are being fixed. I am not a great golfer but for the summertime price it is well worth the trip. We drive about 1 hour to get there and are never disappointed. We had a summer storm today after the front nine and waited about 45 minutes to play the back. Go there and help the course !!!!!!!!! It is worth it.
OVERALL
Overall course in good condition. A few greens had some serious issues but course is boring. All holes are pretty much alike. No trees, no water holes, just hit driver and then continue straight out to green. Nothing wrong and this can be a nice leisurely round of golf, simply no challenges as each hole appears the same, other then the numerous and various elevation changes.
horrible greens
Greens are shot out. Mostly dirt with patches of grass. Unplayable. Better luck putting in parking lot. Warm day with full course and no beverage cart.
bad greens
played it before. like the layout. Greens are very bad
Sherman Hills
Always enjoy the layout, staffing and those I get partnered up with. Tee boxes and fairways are in good shape as usual. But since I was there three weeks ago, several of the greens have really taken a turn for the worse. Since I play there often. I am aware of the issues, but the guys I played with had not played Sherman in a while and were very disappointed. Temp greens need to be installed and the damaged ones need to be totally redone and given time to grow back properly. Great course, but this needs to get fixed.
Some of the greens are in bad shape, they have been like this for over a year. They really need to fix them soon or I will no longer be playing there.
A tough low slope rated course.
We play this course often because of location. For most part it is not a difficult course, yet at end of day one will wonder how one had so many bad holes. Greens are much better shape than many other similar priced and rated courses at this time of year.
4 Balls
Played this course a few times. Great layout and 95% of the greens are in great condition. I’m Scottish and been living in the US for a few years. I cannot understand why clubs allow folk to use the back (medal tees) on busy weekends. It slows play down, sorry to say this, but in this country the guys who want to play off the back don’t have the game to do this. It took 5hrs to get round. The guys in front hit slices off the tee, all day and on the green...you thought they were putting for the masters...good course and great staff.
Front 9 is in excellent condition, back 9 not so much
A number f greens on the back appear to have a fungus and the greens are "spotty" at best.
The fairways on the front 9 are plush, not so much on the back 9.
It's like playing 2 different golf courses.
Back 9 need A LOT of work.
Nice course though challenging, lots of hills.
Course was in good shape except for a couple greens that I hear are being worked on, no big deal! Friendly staff, especially Dennis, great to chat with him! Course overall was in good shape but be ready to hit at times without seeing the pin. Some of the hills are steep so if you don't get it on the crest, we'll you know what that means! Fun coarse, had a blast, will be back! I like the idea of the markers on their own little island at start of back 9, beautiful!!!
Nice course
The front 9 is a really nice links style course and in very good condition. The back nine’s greens have rough spots, but overall it’s a really nice course for the money.
review
Sherman Hills is always a fun course to play, nice wide fairways, not too much sand or water....but the greens needed attention. The pro shop was very accommodating as we wanted to use two separate carts and since it was not busy they allowed us.....looking forward to playing there again.....
Really nice course, would play it again.
Really fun course, good layout. Front 9 greens were nice. Well fast but in good condition, back 9 were under repair but playable. Good price, great staff and a nice course you can't go wrong.
Course in poor shape
First time playing this course and don’t plan to ever return. The course layout has potential, but currently in just poor conditions. Many tees, fairways, and greens had bare spots and needs some TLC. Not worth what we paid for the round.
place to play
fun course.trickie greens.always in great condition.
