Bear's Best Atlanta

I like the course. I am disappointed in the course condition. In all fairness the course was wet but I expected better greens and the course to be in better shape. I have played a lot of the Golden Bears courses, and this was in the worst shape of any I have played.

I will try it again in a month or two to see if the condition has improved.

Almost every tee box needs to be redone. All the greens were slow and bumpy. Great course layout but it feels neglected. Way over priced for the course conditions.

My son and I play here at least once per season. Great experience overall. Course was in great condition and especially like the black sand traps on a couple of the holes.

I expected better conditions for the price. Course gets a lot of play. But amazing hole designs make it worth it

Staff was rude. I think the headpro is power tripping. It seems like he has an attitude. Came here because couldn't find a tee time else where but I know now why they have open tee times.

For the cost of green fees, the course should warn you when you won’t get conditions you expect. The greens were aerated and sanded. Putting was a joke.

The staff and pro acted like you were bothering them and obviously could care less if you played the course or not.

Love the layout but after this experience, they won’t be getting my money anytime soon.

Tee times were 30 minutes late going off and we were given no notice of this even when we checked in. Pace of play was absolutely slow. Apparently there was a Friday morning tournament that must have slowed things down. Seemed like there were a bunch of first time hackers out there taking their good old time and hitting it 140 yards off the tee. We were a 4some that would play at a normal pace and we had to wait for at least a couple minutes after every single shot. Not even sure how some of those people could possibly play that slow. We even ended up skipping a hole but that didn't speed things up much. I didn't see any Rangers trying to speed things up. Course was aerated 3 days prior and I must have missed the notification on golfnow but not the courses fault. I thought it would be less than $114 but that wasn't the case. Course layout is excellent. Conditions were okay. There were definitely bare areas that need new sod but all in all course was in fair condition. Not sure on condition of greens due to aeration.

Really enjoyed my round of golf here. Played during twilight rate on a Friday, not many people on the course (was a little bit of rain), but was able to enjoy the round without having to wait or have people behind me which was great. People who were on the course were nice and staff was friendly. Course itself was in pretty good shape, only the tee boxes were a little worn. Would definitely play again during similar hours if it again meant not too many people on the course.

Bears Best stays being the best course around Atlanta for the Public. From the clubhouse to the pro shop to the range and course. Driving range is very big and it is grass so that is a plus. Chipping and putting greens are great and mimic the greens on the course. It is beginning to spring here in GA so the grass is still somewhat dormant but the greens were just freshly rolled and are in great shape. Price is high for a reason. Course speaks for itself. Will be my main course all through summer.

Good condition for winter golf. One of my favorite courses so far in GA. Looking forward to playing it when it greens up.

This is my first time playing here. The winter in Atlanta has not been great so pretty much all the courses around here are in similar condition. The biggest turn off here is the price point. Teetimes from $90-$135. Tee boxes are beat up. Fairways not in great condition. To rip people off charging that much with the course in this condition is a shame. If I hadn’t snagged a hot deal ,I would have been really mad. Odd thing. They won’t give you the cart key until 5 minutes before your Tee time and no range balls included. I’m sure in spring once the grass is back it will be better. Will be interesting to see what they charge then. For now, I’d play elsewhere for less since every course is in the same condition right now. Definitely not Jack’s best right now.
