Slow Play
The great course, perfect conditions and friendliness of the staff were quick erased by a 4:55 round. Need more rangers to keep things moving.
Absolutely not worth the high price tag to play here.
Staff
Staff was great. Course seems to have gone downhill since Club Corp took over. I sure hope they get back to this being a great course that people flock to like they used to be. Need severe groundskeeper help.

Course Condition
For the most part the golf course was in pretty good shape. The most obvious area that was an exception were the fairway and greenside bunkers. Nearly all of them were in very poor shape and many unplayable.

Way over priced
Just an average course but they charge as if a premium course, which it is not.

Poor condition
Played here many times and this is the poorest condition that I've seen so far. Seems to have workers working on fairways for many of the holes within 18 holes. Greens are not rolling good due to bumpiness and dead spots.
Consider spending your money elsewhere until thing improves.

Bear’s Best Disappointed
Bear’s Best Atlanta, extremely poor course conditions. If pricing was relative to course conditions they should be charging $40 tops. $130 was just way to much for a course that is poorly maintained. Greens/Bunkers overall Poor condition. Some were worse than poor.. I was not expecting perfect conditions, just better. Golf courses in the surrounding area charge less and are maintained like they care about the experience not just the “name”! Really disappointed.
Bear’s Best Las Vegas Drastically Different different experience! Course in great shape and properly maintained relative to the price!

Could be better
Have played this course many many times and unfortunately it looks horrible anymore and hate to see that as the staff is great but course conditions just are nowhere how it used to be. Would be worth getting a solid maintenance person or manager and overhaul as this was once the course to play. Not so much anymore.

So helpful
Well, somehow I made different tee times cryo myself and my husband.
They were so very helpful. So friendly. They even got us out earlier. Checked in on us during the round and after!
This is course is tough but fun to play.
2 different groups in front offered us to play through. That's never happened before. Wow. What a day.

Poor sand traps and fringes
Good layout but sand traps were in poor condition. Hit gravel in one of the traps and left marks on my sand wedge. Need more sand and daily raking. Some of the fringes on the greens were dead. Reminded me of a muni course in some areas. Cart girl had no sandwiches at lunch time. The turn is not at clubhouse so had to play without lunch. Staff was great.

Beautiful course! Poor conditions for the price. Worth trying if you’re in the area.
Awesome collection of holes. Loved the Par 3s and design in general. In my opinion it was not worth the price I paid considering it was cart path only and the greens had just been aerated a few weeks prior. Was definitely expecting a bit more as far as course conditions. I know there have been a lot of storms in the area recently so

Little disappointed
I have played this course several times. I know we have had some rain recently however several bunkers needed sand and repair.

Has gone continually downhill
I’ve played Bear’s best 8-10 times over the past five years and played twice last week with a friend. I won’t be going back. The greens are bumpy and chewed up. The collar on many greens is dead. You can see the tarp underneath on many of the bunkers, it’s a shadow of what it once was. For $130,/golfer you would think they could buy a few loads of sand.
If you take Jack Nicklaus’ name off of this track and it would be the $50/round that it actually is.

Course Condition
The course is always fun to play. The staff is excellent. However, the course is in need of some badly needed maintenance. Some of the tees need replacement sodding due to bareness. And most of the greenside and fairway bunkers are nearly unplayable. Most bunkers have little to no sand in them. This course use to be pristine. It would be nice to see it returned to that condition.

Could be great, but just ok
Greens were not good. Deferred maintenance, no food on the cart. Great layout and staff.
