Bear's Best Atlanta

Great layout. A couple of the holes had some grass issues in the fairways. A lot of ball marks on the greens that golfers didn't fix. Overall, good course that I would play again when the golfnow price dips below the $50 mark.

This was my first time playing the course. I will definitely go back and play again. It was super hot at the course but the condition of the course and fun layout made it well worth any inconvenience from the heat. I loved the fun and beautiful course layout.

The people and facility were fabulous. We got paired up with a member who was helpful and fin to be with. The course was in great shape.

Overall, this is a very good course. It's one of my favorites. However, there is one aspect that needs attention. The last few times I've played there I have been disappointed with the condition of the sand traps. The sand is often hard packed and in many cases it's wet (and not from rain...it seems sprinklers are set where they spray into the bunkers). Maybe it's time to add some new sand.

This is the greatest course in north Atlanta area.

This is one of my favorite layouts in Georgia. Great challenge the once the weather starts to get warm the greens slow down tremendously. To the point they are not enjoyable to putt on. See you when the temps cool off like October.

I read all the other reviews for Bear's Best. I don't see how it can possibly get such poor ratings. It's one of the best courses I've played. My only grip about the course conditions were the greens. They were long and very slow. Slowest I've played in a long time. My other grip was the pace of play. There was a tournament in front of us and even with best ball the pace of play was horrible. Many of them seemed like they'd never played golf. All in all though an immaculate course with a great layout.

We played this course for the first time. Great experience. Not crowded. Staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful course in very good condtion. It's a definite winner.

Fun course. Yes it can be on the higher side for price but it is always in great condition even in winter months when other area corses are dry and thin grass. Plays fast and is forgiving enough for higher handicaps.

The greens were obviously not cut - or they are cutting them so high that they are ridiculously slow! It was completely unenjoyable to putt. I have putted on faster sanded greens! We paid $20 for this round so for that price is was OK, but for more than that I would have felt badly cheated.

Played 18 under 3.5hrs. Great day on the course. Bunkers came into play on several holes. Knowledge of the course would have helped. Driver got me in trouble on a couple of holes from the white tees. I would play blue on these holes or go to a shorter club next round. Nice to have good fairway grass.

The greens had recently been punched and didn't have mech sand in the holes, plus the grass was pretty shaggy. Very tough to putt. The bunkers looked they hadn't been raked in a week.

The course was recently aerated and the greens were rough.We were not told conditions of course..
We have played better courses. We were somewhat disappointed.

Loved the course. Staff very friendly and helpful. Range balls included. GolfNow directions to course are wrong....Beware. This is the second consecutive time GolfNow directions were bad. Google the course directions directly.

This course is well laid out. The fairways are wide enough for staying out of the woods but if placed e right making par becomes difficult. Staff was nice and very helpful. I will be back. Soon

Played in a scramble to determine if playing in the league would be worth the value. course was nice, wide fairways.

Good course but pace of play is 5 hours. Will return in summer, conditions such as bunkers without sand are sure to get better.

Fun course, fairly open but you still have to place your shots. It rewards good shots and penalizes poor one. Course was in excellent condition except the greens. The greens needed to be cut or at least rolled. They were a little hairy and bumpy. I am sure in season they are much better. A round of golf can be a bit pricey but I got a deal on golfnow. Overall an excellent course. I would highly recommend it.

I had been wanting to play BB for some time, but never have due to the high cost. My buddy and I earned a free round through Golfnow and decided to take advantage.

The course conditions were excellent with exception of the greens which were just fair. The course was challenging on a number of holes, but not so challenging so as to make for a frustrating round.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities were top notch with a nice driving range, chipping area, and putting green. Though we did not use the dining area or clubhouse per say, they seemed very nice.

Other than the greens being average, the only other issue was the pace of play over the first 6-8 holes. The first four holes were excruciatingly slow to the point that the marshall appeared to get things moving. We teed off at 1:00 pm on a saturday, and we thought we weren't going to be able to finish. As it was, we managed to finish just as the sun was setting.

Had a great time, the course was fun, but with a round running close to $100 dollars I won't be returning anytime soon.
