The course was great especially for the weekend. No issue with pOp even with a 4some ahead of our 4some. The greens are rolling true and everything breaks toward Disneyland.. (so they say). Get used to always hitting on some sort of slope; that’s what makes this course fun and challenging. The wind kicking in made it a bit of a challenge, as well. As always, BlackGold is under excellent management. Keep up the great work.

This is a must play if you are in the Anaheim area. Make sure you bring your A game and swallow a little pride and play the white tees. Tee to greens can be challenging, but once you get to the greens you work has just started. There are not many flat spots on any of the 18 greens, but all are in fabulous shape running pretty quick. Give it a try.

If I could give 10 stars to the staff I would. Best experience I’ve ever received. I’m not the type of person to write reviews but they deserve this one. Thank you guys!

It was unfortunate that our pace was so slowed down and there were a handful of groups, ours was the last, squeezed in between an outing that went off shotgun. We were only able to finish 14 holes which took 4.5 hours at which point it was becoming too dark to see even had we wanted to continue waiting 5-10 minutes on every tee box. That was with one group quitting directly in front of us after 9. Not to mention the “lead” group for the tournament continuously coming up on us while we waited for the group in front of us to clear, blasting music and generally being loud and distracting while we hit tee shots. They really had no respect for any form of politeness towards our experience. Saw someone from the course ride through once but not stop to speak to anyone about anything. Zero management of the pace of play and more than half of the tee boxes we would have two groups waiting to tee off for at least a 3-5 minutes.

Other than that, the course conditions were fine and the greens were super slick and had a few pin positions which were absolutely unfair due to the speed. A number of them you would roll the ball up to the cup and it would stop just past and then roll 3-5 feet or in some cases more back towards you.

I really wanted to enjoy the course after reading the other reviews, however this was one of my least enjoyable rounds in recent memory.

Priced very high but a very nice course. Challenging.

had a great time. a few holes provide magnificent scenes. Some are are challenging. Parv3 holes are long from blue tees.

I haven't played here in a few years and was delightfully surprised at how nice the course was. I played really fast on the front nine but ran into a really slow player ahead of me on the back nine. He was playing too far back tees and hit at least 1-2 balls out of play/hole. The course was in great shape all around. The greens rolled really nicely. I liked the challenging layout especially on the back nine that navigates through a canyon.

Course was definitely a challenge. Fun layout. Greens were in ok shape. We were from out of town and thought we would give this course a try. We were happy with the choice but it seemed a little pricey. Would come back again if price was better.

From the moment I arrived. Excellent welcoming and professionalism shown by the starter and cart boys. Paired at the first tee with 3 random guys who were very cool dudes.

The course itself is not for beginners. I played the Blue Tees and they were a fair test. Skinny fairways and good decision making is vital. You miss the fairway or green surrounds and the deep Kikuya grass will eat you up. If you can’t drive relatively straight prepare to have a frustrating time. Otherwise the fairways and greens are all immaculate. Cart girl was fantastic and came around twice on the back.

I lost a club cover and one of the staff even went out of his way to ask other players behind me and even check the cart Bay for it. Very kind gesture. I don’t write reviews very often but definitely play Black Gold if you are in the area.

Great for the price and the best kept course I’ve played in the Brea area and surrounds.

The course is beautiful. Keep the ball in the fairways, and out of the traps, and you will have a great round.

Pace was good. Fairways were good. Greens were good. Tee boxes were good. Worth the money here. Definitely coming back over and over

Like the layout, a few risk/reward holes. First time here, had a few times where I wish I knew safe side of fairway or green. Greens were little slow, bumpy due to recent airation. All approach shots stuck well. Fairways were good no problems. Sand a little hard, seam like all courses I played lately have same issue. Will definitely play here again.
