Tee times not organized
Most of the time I play with players with all sorts of tee times. It is because players check in whenever they want. And they tee off when the tee box is opened. Once I play with twosome with 11:10 am tee time and a single with a 12:00 pm tee time and my tee tome was 11:20 am. Sometimes there are twosome, 4some, single and three some on the field causing a big delay. Anaheim Hills should do something about this.
Fun day golfing
Good course conditions, but would've liked to know that the greens were punched, as it threw our game off. Otherwise, pace of play was good, and overall great day.
Hidden gem
This course is amazing, hard to believe that your just off the 91 freeway. It feels like your in a completely different place. The greens were punched but that really didn’t matter to me and my group, we all had a blast.
No alert on course aerification
Course was under aerification. Didn't see the alert when booking the tee time. All else was good.
Tee boxes
Almost all of the tee- boxes were dry and hard to get a tee in. Of course the greens had recently bee punched so they balls did not roll correctly Maybe there is an opportunity to let players know by email and computer ad and at the course when this is being done.
Got to course and found greens had been aerated a few days ago. I was not told this when I booked or even when I checked in. We had to wait on every hole. Course has good elevation change and an interesting lay out but several holes are hard hat specials- greens and next tee box too close.
Anaheim Hills
Tight course, blind shots, lots of elevation change, front nine was very enjoyable. Back nine layout required you to watch out for others hitting into your fairway or tee box all the time. Nice views, helped us forget the slow pace of play on the last 6 holes. If you like to putt I suggest you give it a couple weeks to let the greens recover from aerating.
Pace of play
Pace of play was terrible. No Ambassador. :(
It was busy but no reason for that slow of play.
Decent conditions, poor layout
I've played this course a few times and everytime I play it, I swear I'm not ever gonna play it again. The conditons and location are pretty, but lots of elevation changes, blind shots on every hole, and narrow fairways create a frustrating experience. The first hole is a classic example of what you'll expect for the day. A perfect drive down the middle will put you directly behind a tree in the middle of the fairway. Left is on a hillside and right is out of bounds. That level of frustration is most of the rest of your round. The GPS in our carts weren't working that day which make it really tough since most holes it's hard to know where your hitting or how far you need. Rangefinder is only part useful as some holes you can't see the flag from your shot in the fairway.
