Most Improved
Off all the courses I play, Anaheim Hills is the most improved. The changes they’ve made are awesome. The pond at the par 3 seventh hole even has water in it. Also, it’s all very well maintained. Good job!
Management actually is bad
I’ve been a member at Anaheim Hills Golf Club for about 4 months now, and I have pretty mixed feelings.
The course itself is honestly great—always in good shape and really nice to look at. You can tell a lot of effort goes into maintaining it, and the staff working on-site are super friendly and helpful.
That said, the biggest issue here is management. Weekday pace of play is consistently rough, which makes it frustrating if you’re trying to get in a normal round. It often feels disorganized, and there doesn’t seem to be much control over tee time flow.
I’ve noticed situations where smaller groups, including what seem like employees playing with friends or partners, end up backing up the entire course. That kind of thing adds up and really impacts the experience for members.
Overall, great course and great front-line staff—but management needs to step it up and get a better handle on pace of play and course flow.
Price gouge much?
The course is fairly challenging and enjoyable although the conditions of many parts of the course does not justify the price.
But if $4.00 for a 12oz. can of diet coke or $7.50 for a 12oz. can of beer seems reasonable to you, then this is a good value.
I don't think I'll be back any time soon though. Much better options out there.
Terrible course
City of Anaheim should be embarrassed for what they put out to play on Easter Sunday. Staff was not friendly. Probably don’t wanna be there greens part four turned into part three or three of them never played there again. Don’t recommend it to anybody.
Major repairs
Several holes and tee boxes were temporary - at least 2-3 holes were moved to the center of the fairway. All greens were aerated with plenty of sand. Definitely not worth the price paid and was never told of the conditions when I checked in.
Many Temp Tee Locations
There was a total of 4 temp tee locations which made it terrible. I wish GN would have indicated that before reservations or we wouldn’t have played.
Currently a building site - avoid.
Various temporary greens, 7th tee just a chipping mat as a lake is being dug out, one or two other temporary tees - AH is currently a building site, not a proper golf course. No one tells you this in the check-in process!
Seeing a 5-some playing behind me (late morning) was a surprise - is that allowed? Did the Marshals see and approve that? - which clearly was causing very slow play - the back-up was obvious.
This is NOT a good time to play AH - leave it a year to recover!! It should eventually become good again.
Well-Maintained Course, Lacking Basic Amenities
The golf course itself is in great shape and the conditions are honestly very good. The fairways and greens are well maintained, and it’s clear the course is being taken care of.
That said, it’s pretty frustrating that a few holes are still under repair, and the temporary tee boxes are just dirt with no grass, yet we’re still being charged full price. That doesn’t really feel justified.
On top of that, I’ve been playing on Sundays around 2–3pm, and there’s consistently no beverage cart anywhere on the course. When it’s over 90 degrees, that’s a big miss. The snack shack around the 6th hole and the cart near the 10th hole are also always closed during that time.
A few previous times, carts weren’t available at our scheduled tee time, which pushed us back 20-30 minutes. Because of that delay, we weren’t able to finish our round before daylight ran out.
Paying full price for a round with limited amenities and delays like that, especially something as basic as access to drinks and snacks, is pretty disappointing. Great course conditions, but the overall experience definitely needs improvement.
Worst golf course
This was first time that I have tee off on this golf course. I wish they have indicated constructions going on in this course.
Most of all, there is no Marshall to over see play time. Took about 6 hours to finish the course. Absolutely one of the worst experiences.
I will never book this course again.
Lots of temporary greens just now
Play this course in 6 months time as there are lots of short holes and temporary greens. The rough is so long we lost a lot of balls.
Course under construction
A few holes were being refurbished. Should have been listed on the site.
Come On Guys!
Terrible pace of play, it shouldn’t take 4 hours to play 11 holes on a Monday. You’re Marshalls aren’t doing their job, and you guys aren’t spacing out these tee times enough. It’s going to take a long time to get my business back if ever.
Loved this course
Maybe the day of the week or time but no pace of play issues. Two things to mention though, there were 4 holes being redone so temp greens and tee boxes. A couple of holes have blind fairway landings and no way to tell if clear to hit. Will love to play again
Stellar day at AHGC
Second off gave us 4 an opportunity to really enjoy the day.
No one pushed us and we didn't catch the first off.
Course has spectacular Canyon views and many elevated tees.
Tees were great (3 temp tees though)
Fairways really excellent.
Greens were smooth but had been sanded which spoiled the greens experience:( (3 temp greens also)
Not quite "target golf" but roughs will swallow your balls:)
Need a cart to really enjoy as there's many hills and distances between tees.
Only played here 3 times. Each time they have been improving a hole or two. And not Mickie mouse but real golf course landscaping.
We'll be back after sanded greens aregone....
