Average Course
Came out in the Morning 830 first hole felt like i waited for 10 - 15 min before i got too tee off .... super slow on the front 9 , every tee box & fairway had to wait, horrible how they cram everyone together - back 9 was about the same .... wouldn't come here again on a weekend
Disapponting
I've played here since the early 1970s. The greens are good, fairways are NOT good, bunkers (that were raked) are OK, tees are just OK.
Surprised that the fairways were so thin AND wet, really no excuse for that. Overall, the course is in mediocre shape, at best.....
Misinformed cart attendee.
they are placing 2 persons in one cart last time I played 3 weeks ago, against the CDC guidelines for golf.
Ho-hum........
Pretty unremarkable course. The difficulty of the track comes in it's length. Most holes are just long and fairly straight. Conditions were actually pretty good on this day and better than I remembered. The value is not really there though, and think most other courses in the area are better deals. Also, $4.03 for a fountain drink, credit card only, and 15% gratuity automatically added? For some reason, staff have never really been friendly here either, and today was no different. I wouldn't miss any meetings or functions with your mother in law to play here.
Wrong course
I showed up 20 minutes before my tee time at 1018 am on the South Course, the young man informs me that Golfnow messed up and released times they should have, He apologizes and says we will see what we can do, next thing I am being hurried out to a cart and told I am on the tee, get to the starter and sends me to the 1st tee. I am on the North course not the South course which was the one with my tee time., total cluster, realize they are just reopening but that is unexceptable.
Thick rough
I reckon during the COVID crisis the groundskeeper was also off. I'm talking 4 inch rough 5 ft from the fairway and cut grass were they recently mowed.
Awesome playing
Course was pretty empty when playing. Greens were in great condition and the fairways were great because of the recent rain.
Los Serranos
Great course. Pace of play was slow, 5:30 round. Finished just before dark.
Overbooked
It took 3 and half hours to finish front nine. Always keeping 4 groups (8carts) on hole#5 to Wait for tee offs.
All wi tee golf should be this good.
Great weather and great pace of play! The course is just difficult enough and long on most holes. Really enjoyed playing here, thanks.
Long course with fast greens
Great course layout but very long even from white tees. The fairways were nice but some bad patches like anywhere.
The pace was awful. There was a 5-some ahead of us and slow playing groups ahead of them. It was over 5:30 pace which is terrible for a weekday. Nobody on the course monitoring the pace of play.
South Course was Great!!!
Prior to playing the recent round at Los Serranos, which is the subject of this review, I had played the North course once. That was a lot of years ago and it was less than enjoyable. Course was beat, staff was so-so, pace of play was laughable. We ended up leaving after it took almost three hours to play nine holes, it was a Saturday which certainly impacted the pace of play. It was an experience which led me to avoid Los Serranos for over 15 years.
My recent round on the South course and overall experience at Los Serranos was the complete opposite of my previous round on the north course. Every member of the staff was friendly, courteous and happy to help with any questions. The course was in very good shape, from the tee through the greens. They had a snack bar out there; that was actually open and selling the usual snack bar fare at a reasonable rate. No roaming beverage cart, but between the clubhouse & snack bar there wasn’t much need for one out there on a weekday. There were big jugs of water out there, that were filled with cold water, at least on the back nine of the south. I didn’t see any on he front but I really wasn’t looking; so they might have them out there and I simply didn’t see them. Marshall(s) was friendly and his presence pretty much went unnoticed. The only slightly negative comment I have to offer was about the pace of play. It was a little slow for a midday round in the middle of the week. But we still finished in about 4:20, which isn’t too bad.
One last comment to offer about the South Course. If you’ve never played there before, it’s a long, tough course. There’s certainly a lot of elevation change, some downhill shots from elevated spots. Oddly though most of the course seemed to leave me hitting uphill shots. Not a criticism, just a word of warning. Oh they also have gps in their carts and unlike some gps I’ve seen on carts over the years, there’s was very helpful and most importantly, seemed to be very accurate.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone.
Horrible
Tee time was delayed about 20 minutes and they put two foursomes of slow Asians who played from the black tees and only hit it about 200 yards. We were a two some that could have easily played ahead and not had to wait at all. Instead, we had to said about 10-15 minutes between every single shot. Took over 5 hours on a Thursday at 11:20; I will never play here again and recommend that nobody else does either.
Good to Be Back
Played on 1st day it was reopened. Course was in great shape. Staff handled the amount of players and new rules very well. After tee off was smooth sailing even though there were so many people playing. Only negative would be the cheesey water hazards on some of the holes
Out of the house
Was a fun round today. Course was in good shape. Rough needs to be trimmed and raked a bit.
