Golfer Reviews
Going Downhill
Played on a Monday for $70. Not worth the cost of admission. Maybe for $40 I would play again. The course is in rough shape and going downhill. The sand traps lacked sand and instead had mud, stones, and weeds. The grass is spotty and weedy. All this and it took 5+ hours for a round. It will be a very long time till I return.
Okay conditions
The bunkers were hit or miss. A lot of the fairway bunkers should be marked as waste or ground under repair due to the vegetation growing in them. The greenside bunkers were fine for the most part. The greens were soft and average speed (lots of ball marks though). Overall the course conditions were pretty good (fairways were green considering the lack of rain).
Hope for the best
Whisper creek has always been a favorite.. a bit disappointing.. the course was not up to the detailed maintenance standards that have always had.
The course has been mismanaged from a agricultural view. Course was burned out.
Tee boxes beat up and dried out. Bunkers unplayable and unkempt.
You cannot help but enjoy the layout but to have these very disappointing conditions are either mismanaged or no budget.
If its a budget thing they shouldn't be charging premium rates for sub par conditions.
Before you think its sour grapes by me... im a retired golf course superintendent of 30 years so I have a little insight on what the cultural practices are to keep a 4 star course playable.
I wish them luck... hope the recognize their short comings and are able to rectify what needs to be looked at.
Traps are getting better
Played this course 3 weeks ago and commented on how the sand traps needed sand. Much improvement since then.
Whisper Creek
This course has the potential to be very nice, but it isn’t in great condition. The bunkers are in serious need of repair/maintenance and the tee boxes are kind of chewed up. The fairways and greens are in average condition.

Great layout and nice condition. Tee Off had a great hot deal at 1:30. The people in the Pro shop were very kind and friendly. I traveled 40 miles to play Whisper Creek.
Great track
Tee boxes definitely needed watering as well as 3-4 greens. Otherwise great track and speed of play was under 4 hours teeing off at 9:30.
This course used to be so nice. What happened?
There is a very serious fungal problem going on at this course. Most tee boxes are in terrible do to the diseased Turf.
It appears to be in the fairways and greens as well. Luckily the greens rolled well so I stopped short of a 1 star review.
Save your money. It's not worth $70 in it's current condition.
