Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Only took me 30 years! Photo submitted by rjhmu on 11/04/2012
Short, short, and short
Way to short of a course to be considered a real 18 hole course, might have enough land to make a decent 9 hole course. Every hole is on top of another hole and just short and tight. I played in late fall but I imagine this course being very well kept during regular golf season, deep bunkers and tricky greens. Glad it was winter rates as I would not pay the summer rates.
Decent shape
Course is looking alright for Nov 20th, greens needed some work to fix ball marks, rough patches, etc, and also the greens were a bit run down but for the $24 hot deal it was a good day. Definitely would not pay more than $30 personally for this course this time of the year.
Old Nordic
Played this course for over 30 years . Enjoyed playing here . Challenging for the average golfer . Some few well pitched greens will tuff pin placement . The bunkers are deep . Well maintained . Will play again .
Slow Play
I played in the middle of the day on a Tuesday and I didnt even get to finish my round due to slow play, It took me, who played alone, almost 2 hours to play the front 9 and i didnt make it past 14 on the back before having to leave. I would sit in my cart for a solid 10 minutes between holes. It was terrible and not worth the money spent
Eaglewood
I love Eaglewood, but I rarely have the round which I think I should. This is because of the greens. Englewood is a relatively short course and so, to keep up the degree of difficulty, the greens have a lot of undulation. Routinely I have ended up with 40+ putts. Not this time! I ended up with 5 one putts and no 3 putts. Sincerely hope that I can continue along this line!
Seen better days
The course plays well and there’s some interesting holes but suffers from a lack of upkeep. The fairways were grown out to semi rough levels. The greens were spotty. And there was no starter or Marshall to keep things in order. People were jumping holes all over the course. The hotel and surrounding buildings are dated and if you want a John daily at the bar, be ready to pay 20 dollars for it. Good news is they have coolers on the cart and no supervision on the course so feel free to bring your own drinks.
Un professional golf director
Tha golf director ruined my birthday golf with my wife by falsely accusing mo of which never happened he was talking to me in a harsh tone and accusing Golfnow for not having money or profit to maintain the golf course
In spite of knowing I m playing to celebrate my birthday golf with my wife he was not at all remorse of accusing me for which I replied it never happened other than one time he was yelling at me that I have asked many times
I want an investigation to this blame and acusation
Target golf with a nice layout. Not well manicured. Tee boxes and sand trips need we’re on manicured. Too bad, it could use some TLC and flowers to complement the beautiful oak trees.
Drunken golf
Everything was fine until 15th hole anddd saw 7 golf carts and beer girl sitting in the middle of fairway nobody golfing
