Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Only took me 30 years! Photo submitted by rjhmu on 11/04/2012
Come here if you like waiting on every shot and spending 6 hours on the course. Rangers are absolutely useless. Course is full of Grandpa’s playing two balls on every hole but don’t let you play through. Will not be back.
Great course for a great price
Small at times and big at times. This course is unique and is really fun!
Looks beautiful but doesn’t rolls it just bounces
Great staff, awful regulars that dont understand golf etiquette. The course is beautiful until you get to the greens all it did was bounce around when you putt. I wouldn’t recommend until all greens have been fixed and get rid of the old farts!
Solid Course
We went early on a Saturday morning after some heavier rains during the week. We may have been the second or third tee time that morning, so lots of ground crew were still around working. Overall, it’s a course worth the price and makes for a great spot to have breakfast afterward, too!
Enjoyed
Always said nice course
Nice ppl especially Anna Marie and the cart girl Alexandra
Polite humble and friendly
Thanks
Nice Course
This is a nice course.
It could use some additional signage and hole markings.
The course was clean and well kept.
Incredibly disappointed!
I don’t even know where to begin. It was a rainy sloppy day, week actually, but I called about an hour before I planned on arriving to the course to confirm that they were closed. It had been raining for the last two days and the forecast showed rain into the next couple.
The guy at the golf shop actually said on a recorded line that it was dry out there and they were letting people out BUT if I wanted to come early it was wide open, very contradicting. If it was dry and this is supposedly one of the nicest courses in the area why would it be wide-open on a Sunday? I go about my business and proceed towards the course but something in my gut told me to call one more time and a new person answered the phone.
I recapped the conversation with the last person and she sounded surprised because she said it was raining and she understood I didn’t want to drive an hour to get rained out. She reconnected me with the first person I spoke with at the golf shop and we verbally confirm that I was looking to cancel because of the weather and he agrees. Even then tells me I have nothing to worry about and TeeOff will see that it was bad weather and I will get my money back. So I call into TeeOff and they call the course to confirm everything and get THIS… the guy in the golf shop actually flips 180 on me and says they are dry and it’s green light, wide-open! Thus causing Tee Off to refuse my cancellation. What an experience! I’ll never golf this course again. Also copying and pasting this review to every platform.
Resturant
Anna Marie the girl taking care of carts very polite and humble sorry to say the bar tender looked left and right
They were out of napkins came to grab coffee at the 10th hole no coffee was available it was a bit cold a good day for coffee but alas
Good, not great
Nice course. Greens were a little slow, but overall course was in good shape. Not sure what the Rangers job was as he hovered over our group for what seemed like 14 of the 18 holes. Made for an awkward round.
