Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Only took me 30 years! Photo submitted by rjhmu on 11/04/2012
1 of the best
Overall a short course but very fun to play. Really enjoy Eaglewood every time.
Good layout, lots of elevation changes. Stuck behind few amateurs spraying the ball around but good overall experience.
Sloooooowwwwwww
Unfortunately we waited on each and every hole. We opted to stop after 10 holes as it was no longer any fun.
Perhaps one of the reasons was at the 1st hole where a gent who was "assisting" the starter was verbally pushing us while we were on-deck to move our carts forward about 10 feet WHILE the group was hitting on the tee! A little too much espresso ...
Course is nice and in excellent shape though.
Great
Course was in great condition. Unfortunately air temp. was 95F. Still great time. Bar was way to expensive. Served a Anti Hero in a small glass due to alcohol content....crazy, wonder what thimble a mixed drink will be seved in. 4 beers (1 corona, 1 Anti Hero, 1 Heiniken, 1 Stella) was $29.50, not including tip. That is crazy. Other than that had a great time. Will however avoid the bar.
Short and sweet
This course is short but a lot of fun. The greens were tough, but well maintained. Some water, some bunkers and even a few drivable par 4's.
Enjoy!!
Great for short hitters or working on irons
This course is a great value for the money. Your driver isn't really needed here so it's great for working on your irons and short game. The greens were moderate pace, a good amount of slope, and smaller than average. Overall, the course was in great shape and the staff was fantastic.
BLK
I haven't played the last 5 years and I was pleasantly surprised how nice condition of the course is. Will come back for sure.
Great local course
For the twilight rates on Golf Now, definitely worth it. Course is in pretty good condition, professional friendly starter.
Eaglewood
Nice fairways.....small greens.....above average surface conditions - overall, nice par 72.
Like this course
Have played this course before and liked it. Holes 5 and 6 particularly tough for me. Always a challenge but fair.
Always consiststent
We have played several rounds over the past couple of years. Course is in great shape even though the area has received some storms recently. Course played 90 degrees on 16 holes with 12 and 14 cart paths only. This was a very good call by the staff. A lot of variety on the par 4s with some good birdie opportunities. A number of bunkers that were in good shape considering the recent weather. The course never seems to be over crowded. I would like to see GPS added on the carts. My friends and I will return to this course.
one of my favorite courses
The staff is outstanding. So your first impression is very positive. This is our go to course---the greens are very good . They have a fair number of come back holes as long as you are in the fairway. We always have a great time.
Good for couples.
I play a lot and my wife is playing more and more. So I'm looking for "female friendly" layouts. This is one. It's not difficult for the most part, but has a few twists. Some long/short 4's.
