About
Formerly known as The Oaks at Tan-Tar-A Resort and Golf Club.
Designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge, this course features 18 holes of demanding approaches, challenging greens and well-placed hazards amid lakeside beauty. Includes several traps and water, taking golfers on a journey through the surrounding forests, hills and sparkling lake.

challenging resort golf course in good shape
My second time playing the Oaks. It is a resort course at the Lake of the Ozarks associated with the Tan-Ter-A resort. It is plenty challenging with lots of elevation changes and hilly lies. The tee boxes were very good, not plush. the zoysia fairways were in great shape for the most part. the greens were consistent speed, not slow but not terribly fast. there is plenty of slope to the greens, but mostly not crazy terrible. #11 green has quite a bit of slope, keep your approach below the hole. Also #11, the tee box says from the whites to hit it 180, but I think you can go another 20 yards prior to getting to the lake. keeping it in the fairway is huge; as the ball sits down in the rough and if you are playing the ball down, getting much distance is a struggle. our twosome started at 2:10 pm and finished about 6:00, so pace of play wasn't bad.
Fun course, I'd be happy to play it again.
Greens
Some greens had damage and ball mark not repaired
Leave the driver in your bag.
The staff was extra friendly and let us go off before our tee time. Got around in about four hours and the only bummer was when another twosome hit into us on 10 fairway. We did spend a little extra time in the clubhouse at the turn getting a bite to eat.
Watch out if you're not hitting it straight. There are a number of forced carries from the tee and on approach shots. The course was in good condition except for unfixed ball marks on the greens and a couple of tee boxes on a bit of slant. If you like sidehill lies and water features in front of the greens, this course for you!
The price was absolutely right at $20 per person with the GolfNow deal.

The Oaks at Tan-Tar-A
Great golf course, very difficult. Fairways play narrower than they look due to overhanging trees. Must keep the ball in the fairway. The day we played, the greens were not in very good Condition because too many players did not repair their ball marks. Because of the trees, all doglegs require knowledge of the green location so the tee-shot can be properly positioned or you just won't have a shot into the green.

Did not have a towel for club wiping,annoying

Disappointed
We played 18 holes. There are some very pretty holes that make it interesting. We were disappointed in the course condition. There were weird weeds growing in the fairways. Some issues with water on some holes. There were dandelions growing in some of the bunkers. Based on past comments it must just have been early in the course maintenance season but it looked like it could use more TLC.
That particular Spring we had a great deal of rain everything was literally growing like a weed. Not to make excuses, but we were short staffed and the grass was literally growing faster than we could cut. We'd love for you to give us another chance! Great day golfing at the Oaks

Greens a little rough, but had recently been aeriated. Will be much nicer when it greens up.

Would have rated everything excellent but given the time of year it's still too early for the course condition to be excellent. Restrooms on the course were closed which makes it a bit of a challenge waiting to make the turn. Overall very enjoyable!

This course is challenging
This course is very challenging but we love it and seem to golf very well on this course. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The course had been kept up very nice and the scenery is just beautiful!!!

Fall play in Missouri is tough, lots of leaves. All in all the coarse was good.

Forgiving greens, challenging water holes, bunkers well groomed and positioned. Very quiet setting.
Great fairways
We got this as a great deal and we were not disappointed , but if we were paying full price might have thought differently, as the greens were in rough shape.
Good pace of play and the views were amazing

We had a great round, play with a very nice couple that we were teamed up with. Course slow but weather was besutiful so everyone else was tninking the same thing. Great value. Greens were only part of course not in great condition, but rest super! Didn't matter day was awesome!!
Beautiful Course
Course was in good condition. Some greens weren't in great shape. It's challenging but beautiful. Wildlife everywhere! The clubhouse was outdated and the two girls behind the bar didn't seem to be very bright. Our brats tasted like they were a few days old on stake buns. All in all, golf was good, food and servers were not good.
Oh number 11.... she's a beauty and a beast. We really appreciate you coming out to The Oaks.
