Good course and we’ll kept for winter conditions. Needs cart path reno, on course marshal would help pace of play and pace management as I’ve been out multiple times with groups of 5-6. It seems like they wash their hands of responsibility once someone tees off...
Cold Day
I have played Cherry Blossom a number of times this year. It's a good layout with some challenging holes. The course was in very good condition for this time of year and considering the wet and cold weather. I would recommend this course to anyone in the area.
Nice course
A little wet today! Great course, challenging for me. But a good value for the money! I’ll come back when my game improves. Thanks
No longer best in state.
The layout, fairways and greens were very nice. With apparently limited funds that is where money should go. However, cart paths need a lot of work, range balls looked ten years old, no distance markers made club selection difficult for someone new to course. Staff ok, nothing bad but nothing special. Also, the senior rate was cheaper than the Hot Deal. Wish I had known that. Overall enjoyed the day and would play again but with different expectations.
A very good day.
Played with a foursome. Course was in excellent condition, especially considering the amount of rain in the past month. The only issue was the occasional potholes in the cart path.
Great experience for the four of us.
horrible, save your money
hadn't played here in several years. The course has gone way downhill since then. There were no yardage markers on the cart paths or in the fairways marking 100, 150, and 200 yds. ,there were no towels at the ball washing stations, there was water at only 1 hole that i remember and it was warm, there were no drink carts to be seen, our cart could not make it up the hills (one of us had to walk), there was no marshall on the course to speed up play, the cart paths had massive pot holes, the GPS wasn't working, I was sold a beer that was lukewarm (the worst thing that happened all day!)
However, the layout is nice and the sandtraps were well maintained, but that's the only good thing.
Front and back 9 night and day
The last 7 or 8 holes provide such a gorgeous and fun layout. From the island green to fairways stretched around a beautiful lake, elevation changes and some wicked dog legs, it has it all. The front 9 though has a straight, pedestrian layout. Amazing that the back 9 was stellar and the front 9 had dandelion infested tee boxes, more beat up fairways as well. Greens are all consistent. Still was a really fun course. Would play the back 9 twice if that was an option. Would gladly go back
Excited to Play Again
Excited to get back out there and play again in a few months when the course should be even better.
Awesome course.
Played on a cold rainy day in late October and the course was still in incredibly good shape considering the circumstances. Well taken care of, there’s some fun rewarding/challenging holes and overall good character course.
Great day to play!
Cherry Blossom is a challenging course with some nice views. The hot weather has left its mark a little on the course but it was in pretty good shape at the end of a long hot summer. The green roll well but were not too fast. The cart paths are torn up in some places but it was an enjoyable round. It took 4 and 1/2 hours and we pushed the group in front of us all day. It was a holiday but no course seems to use rangers anymore.
I think this is the best golf course in the Lexington area. The course stays in fantastic shape all year round.
Not worth the money
Mowers and maintenance staff were inconsiderate of play. Sprinklers were disruptive. Burned out areas on the greens.
Maintenance worker was very loud and became abusive to one our foursome who was very respectful of the course.
Great course
The course is a hidden gem! The fairways are in great shape and the greens are spot on. The staff are very friendly.
I want to go back
This is a very nice, well kept, and well laid out course. I plan to return soon, we had rain issues from about the first hole, had couple more delays due to weather. Greens and fairways very nice.
Never a let down
I've played this course many times and it never disappoints. The front 9 is somewhat average with a few holes that will make you think position over power. The back nine requires you to use most of the clubs in your bag if you want to score. 17 and 18 can play above par if your drive is not in the fairway. Both are long and depending on pin position, your third or second shot will require a high approach ball flight with backspin to keep it on the green. Looking forward to playing again.
Tale of two 9s
Front 9 fairly simple. If you’re going to post a low score you need to take advantage of most of these holes. The back 9 is fantastic. Great test. If you can par 17 and 18 from the back tees you’re a player. Overall a fun course I hope to return to next trip into the area.
