Mountain Falls

Course was in great shape, was fun had plenty of hazards to make it challenging, greens were well guarded and had alot of settle humps and valleys. One of the best practice areas i've seen in the Las Vegas area. Pace of play was excellent for a Sunday. Will definetly make the trip out to Pahrump again.

A great place to play.

Mountain Falls may be a bit out of the way -- okay, it's really out of the way. In fact, it's about 60 miles from Las Vegas, but it's got great rates of under $50 (or less if you book using Golf Now) for a course you could easily pay over $150 if it were in Vegas so the few gallons of gas you burn getting there and back is worth it!

I've been playing Mountain Falls every October for the last 6 years and it hasn't disappointed once. The course is absolutely immaculate with pristine tees, fairways and greens. The back 9 is a bit more difficult than the front 9 and the amenities at the course are pretty good with a good sized pro shop, a nice bar and restaurant and very reasonable prices for all food and drinks.

The only downside I would say is that the course mostly meanders through what would be nice desert homes if it weren't for the housing recession. So instead of fairways lined with nicely maintained homes and yards you have empty desert. The bright side of that is errant shots will only hit desert instead of defenseless windows or roofs for the most part -- some holes do have homes on them.

I absolutely recommend this course to anyone who likes Vegas style desert golf, but doesn't want to pay Vegas style green fees.

Greens in perfect condition

Challenging but ordinary front nine(Nicklaus); back nine was great (Olson Group) with many water features and more undulating terrain than front. Greens were fantastic. Worth the drive to Pahrump
