Rude and slow
Proshop staff - wouldn’t honor the Golfnow rate and was unapologetic even though they were running 20 minutes behind, which caused us to abandon our round after 17.
Pace of play - it was one group deep on every tee.

Used to be fun
This course used to be one of my favorites. I hadn’t been in about 10 months and decided to go play it today. What a disappointment. Whatever you normally shoot, add 4-5 strokes for this course right now. The tee boxes are so muddy and terrible they have them moved all over the place. The blues are at the back of the back tee box, almost off the tee box. I’ve never hit a driver on a par 3 until today as #11 is playing 245 yards and directly into the wind. #13 is playing almost 500 yards, directly into the wind, and that’s a par 4 (from a muddy tee box with water hazard). Neither of these holes gives you a real chance for par, even with great shots on each, which I had. Lots of dead grass in the fairways and the grass that is there is mowed down to nothing with hard mud/clay underneath. And if you miss the green by 10 yards on your approach you’ll most likely be chipping off of hardened mud. Golf is always fun for me, even when I’m not playing great, but I had very little fun playing this course today. The one thing I will say is I respect the fact that they aren’t charging an arm and a leg to play here with these conditions. 43 bucks with a cart is very cheap, but I would’ve gone somewhere else had I known what it was like right now.

Nice Course, but…
1) No driving range.
2) Lots of blind shots on the front 9. Needed to play with someone who knew the course.
3) Pace of play was extremely slow. Need marshals on the course.

Tee boxes need some love
The tee boxes were rough and the pace of play slow which is pretty typical of a weekend.

Great value
Living in OC, the course is a great value and worth the drive out to play.. the first hole is a tough hole and most golfers need to hit a driver, but the two person warm up cage is irons only. It would be a nice improvement to be able to hit a few drivers before that first hole. Really enjoyed the round today. The guys that’s the starters and marshals have great personalities for those positions.
