Awesome Course

I enjoyed playing at this course. The staff was very friendly from the time I pulled up Met the -starter and he gave me tips about the course. This was a nice change of scenery compared to what I play in Scottsdale and they a lot cheaper than what I pay in Scottsdale.

Pace

Course was in good shape. The front and back nine are 2 different courses, the front being flat and the back being the more challenging part because of the elevation changes, thus the name quarry. I like this course the biggest negative was the pace of play today was terrible, 2 group waiting on most tee boxes. Have played this course before and this was the first time having an issue with the pace of play.

Something Different

I really enjoyed playing this unique course. Being built around, in, and through an old rock quarry made some of the holes very interesting and challenging. Some of the grass was burned out, but that is to be expected this time of year. I look forward to playing this challenging and narrow course again sometime.

Just a Terrible Day at QP

We had an 8:00 tee time. It was 96 degrees when we teed off, which wasn’t on time.

The advertised pace of play is 3:54. I have played it many times in 3:45. We played it in 4:45. We waited to hit over 90% of our tee and fairway shots.

There was no course marshal to move play.

The temperature when we finished our round was 108. Why is this important? There was no beverage cart on the course and no coolers on the carts. This is a huge safety issue in Tucson in the summer. I was really hoping having Troon manage the course would lead to improvements over time, like their other courses in town, but I was wrong. It will be a long time before I play there again.

Good Course - Slow Play

The course was in good shape for the time of year in Tucson. Only complaint was the pace of play was slow and on the back nine ended up waiting on almost every shot. Groups were hitting into each other throughout the day. Would have been nice to have a beverage cart on such a hot day, but there was water at many holes which helped. Driving range was also closed at this time so couldn't really warm up before the round. Staff was really nice and accommodating.
