del Lago Golf Club
About
del Lago Golf Club sits at an elevation of 3,400 feet, enjoying a temperature that is five degrees cooler than Tucson in the summer, which makes a big difference under the hot Arizona sun. Winding through the hills and valleys of the high desert, the golf course features over 120 feet of elevation changes that present tricky uneven lies. The dramatic undulations also offer beautiful views of the Rincon and Santa Catalinas Mountain ranges. Golfers start at the highest point on the course and then play down into the valley before getting to the back nine, which plays along the Pantano Wash. The first hole is the only forced carry on the course, the remaining holes are friendlier off the tees. Seven lakes dot the golf course, coming into play on six holes, and there is also heavy bunkering around the greens.

Always great
It’s a long drive for me but I’m always happy to play at Del Lago
Beautiful and challenging
Beautiful course that challenges all aspects of your game.
Condition
The course was very over grown. Food and drink trash on all holes. Hole 16 had a pole of dirt in the middle of the green. No beverage cart services on either of the 9 holes. Plus side the greens were maintained nicely.
Ok. Prices are high for the value
For the price they are charging now, it’s ok. No water jugs, no bev cart and average course conditions. I was hoping my return back would be better.
Bad conditions
This course used to be beautiful! It is really run down. Greens are good but rest is in need of a lot of work. Can’t believe they have let is slide this much.
Great Layout, Poor Conditions
I haven't played Del Lago in a few years, but always remembered it as a very good layout that was always in very good condition. While still a great layout, other than the greens (which were in excellent condition!), the course conditions were quite poor. Fairways were pretty much dried up and didn't have any green grass, and the bunkers were borderline unplayable - hard and full of stones. For the price charged, it was not worth making the drive all the way out to Vail. They need to put some money into maintenance before I'll come back.
Greens in Great Shape
Best time of year to play. Unfortunately, the traps, like most in Tucson are filled with rocks. I usually drop out of the traps because I like my golf clubs. That being said, the greens are in fantastic shape right now. Now is the time to play Del Lago if you haven’t in a while.
Manicured!
Been playing here almost every Sunday, and now once during the week. For the last six months been very well maintained, staff if always accommodating, beverage cart seen at least three times per round, couldn’t ask for much more!
