Old Corkscrew Golf Club

This course could be spectacular but it’s lack of attention to details are obvious. I think it is relying on the past. It was once a must play in south west Florida. It’s a difficult and challenging course that should adjust it’s prices to admit it has slipped in recent years. Not a bad experience but not memorable.

The conditions of this course were fair at best. It is clearly overrated despite theNicklaus label. The paths were dirt and dusty. The carts were filthy and were in poor condition.

I will not play it again.

The practice facilities are great

For the price I expected the course to be in better condition.

$11 hot dog, really!

This is a difficult course that uses 7 minute tee time intervals this combination leads to 5 hour rounds. If you play mid-day you will have to wait for a cart to be returned and cleaned before heading to the range. I watched player after player, clubs in hand walking to the range. I expect better for $200 greens fees.

Additionally, they will not allow a single into have their own cart, they will pair you up with a stranger. This is a common practice in Southwest Florida during the busy season but should be changed.

This is the most challenging course i have played in Naples area. This may be the most challenging course i have ever played and i play 100 rounds a year. This isnt a driver wedge golf course. In fact, for many golfers, there are many holes where driver is simply not realistic. There is sand and hazards everywhere and there is a premium on target golf. You need a plan on every hole. I played here twice last week. Fantastic course but can be frustrating if you are in the sand all day. Have a plan. Great touch screens on the cart help you plan. Greens are slower than i would expect for a high end course but fair.

The course was in pretty good shape for the amount of play it's been getting (02/22).. Pace was slow, group ahead fell behind 20+ minutes according to the GPS.....which reminded us on every hole - very annoying since the on-course rangers do anything about it!

Expensive to play and eat (2 hot dogs and soft drinks $30+)

Too expensive. They need to reduce the number of players on the course to speed up play. Conditions were just fair. Good layout.

Too many players booked. Need to spread it out more as it took over 4 hours 30 minutes to play. Very nice and challenging course.

Old corkscrew is a really nice course and very challenging. My only negative is that we had a set teetime and planned our arrival and warm-up accordingly. The starter rushed us to start 10 or 15 minutes ahead of schedule time which made me feel a little bit rushed.

I enjoyed old corkscrew.

I will play it again.
