About
Carved from forests of towering oaks and pines, Old Corkscrew Golf Club exhibits all of the superior characteristics that define Nicklaus Signature courses. The absence of houses around the golf course adds to the secluded and peaceful feel that is provided by the dense thickets of trees that surround it. Jack Nicklaus himself was a prominent presence throughout every phase of the course's construction, incorporating well balanced holes that vary in direction, look, and feel. Proper club selection will be greatly rewarded on this golf course. The fast-paced, undulating greens sit up to 20 feet above the lush, rolling fairways, which can create some tricky pin placements if you're not careful. Old Corkscrew Golf Club's fairways are rather generous, but they are framed by carefully sculpted bunkers. Several large ponds come into play on nearly every hole and there are also numerous sand traps strategically placed along the greensides.

How do you charge $200pp and not have an efficiently run operation?
We arrived almost an hour before our T-time, hoping to be able to hit the range for a bit before our start time. Unfortunately the course ran out of carts, how can you have more t-times than golf carts? We ended up waiting over an hour just to get a cart so we could head out, we T’d off about 30 mins after we we’re supposed to.
All the T boxes are dried up dead grass, I was shocked at how poorly maintained this course is. We were expecting a pristine course, this place is anything but. One of the holes literally has tire marks from a tractor that go from the t box through the fairway to the green - it literally looks like they had a road crew out there painting yellow lines down the middle of a road.
Skip this place and hit up Raptor Bay or Shell Point, much better kept courses.
Great design and layout and very friendly staff. However, pace of play was brutally slow. Waited nearly every shot after 1st hole. Starter should strongly suggest tees based up handicaps and times played. Most tee boxes very thin and several greens in tough shape. For a premium fee, better conditions and pace of play are necessary to justify playing again

Great course
Awesome and friendly staff. pro shop and practice areas were in great shape. course was in good shape and the greens were very fair. only complaint was that the bunkers didn’t seem like they had been maintained for a few days so they were a bit firm

Golf in Nature
A lot of Fl courses are in communities. Old Corkscrew is in a Audubon area and golf only course. Beautiful natural setting.
No rakes in bunker or sand to fill divots because of Covid, but would be helpful to protect course conditions.

Excellent course
Everything was great. Tough greens but forgiving fairways. Staff was very nice and cleaned our clubs after the round.

Best so far
Wife and I have toured 5 courses in the area so far, and Old Corkscrew is by far the best. It's not inexpensive, and we weren't allowed to walk (that's a drag, but I get it here), but we, otherwise, felt extremely welcome and valued.
