About
Carved from forests of towering oaks and pines, Old Corkscrew Golf Club exhibits all of the superior characteristics that define Nicklaus Signature courses. The absence of houses around the golf course adds to the secluded and peaceful feel that is provided by the dense thickets of trees that surround it. Jack Nicklaus himself was a prominent presence throughout every phase of the course's construction, incorporating well balanced holes that vary in direction, look, and feel. Proper club selection will be greatly rewarded on this golf course. The fast-paced, undulating greens sit up to 20 feet above the lush, rolling fairways, which can create some tricky pin placements if you're not careful. Old Corkscrew Golf Club's fairways are rather generous, but they are framed by carefully sculpted bunkers. Several large ponds come into play on nearly every hole and there are also numerous sand traps strategically placed along the greensides.

Bring your balls if you don't hit it straight.
Course is very nice, and we played with a gentleman who is a member, and he was very helpful, in telling me where to hit, and not hit it. without him I likely would have scored worse than I did, but still played OK, and really enjoyed the course. Jack Nicholas, is very apparent as you play with protected greens and very challenging greens. Bring extra balls, as you may need them if you don't hit it straight and know where it is going. the good news, is you will find several while you are looking for yours. I lost 2 balls, that is 2 more than normal for me.
Very much a must play when I return to the area.

Old corkscrew
This place could be really special. They need to fixed the green speed. Not much grass in greens and very slow.
The layout and location is excellent. Again, if they paid attention to detail and course maintenance it would be AWESOME. until then it gets a rating of a “C”

Played during a very busy time. Staff was friendly and helpful at all times and dealt with it all perfectly. Course rangers kept things moving. The cart/GPS and directions around the course were awesome! The routing on the course leaves a lot of driving but it’s nice scenery and incredible layout. It is a challenging course. Lots of undulations to the greens but they rolled fast and played true. Highly recommend playing it if you’re in the area.

Strong course
Always great course lil bummed out I ACED # 17 n didn’t get anything lil flag or maybe discounted round woulda been nice ... but anyways great to finally get 1 .... made my day.... recommend this course for any serious golfer true test ...5 stars

Great Layout
Everyone was very friendly. Except the starter who was impatient and grumpy. We had a cart GPS start beeping on the first tee because it said we were off the cart path, and he proceeded to tell us we were going to fall behind and not help at all. The first couple of greens were beat up, no way around it, and the green speed was disappointingly slow. Awesome layout on the course, very challenging for any golfer. If you break 80 from the tips here you need to make some birdies. And depending on the pins, it can be a tough ask

Playable but challenging
Course was nice, but lots of divots. They did not have sand on the carts, coolers or rakes for the bunkers due to Covid. They also were not wearing masks inside. Would come back if I could find a better deal. A bit on the expensive side- but it’s Florida in season.

Not a good value
Old Corkscrew is not a good value, and I'm puzzled by the many reviews that praise this course. It's certainly scenic, but so are many other southwest Florida courses. The greens were slow and bumpy. Overall conditions were decent but not what I would expect at this price point.

Chummy country club at high end resort prices
Course is excellent
Members in first hour are snooty and you shouldnt allow members to not control play at these prices
