Staff very friendly, practice area very nice, clubhouse outstanding. Paired up as a twosome with a good player and motored through the course in 2.5 hours playing through 2 groups. COurse conditions rated as average based on airation and greens not being cut. Couple of weeks they should be great. Course layout not overly difficult with generous landing areas off the tee. Tee boxes, fairways and bunker in nice condition. Definate play.

Excellent as always. I have never been disappointed. I gave it four stars because of the recent aeration, but it has lamost fully healed. Hardly noticeable.

Good ball placement in the fairways will make your day the bunker placement will make you think on your club selection from the tee box or in the fairway the recent aerification of the course made the greens a challenge will return in a couple weeks to challenge this course again

This is a great course that allows all types of players a challenge. Longer players have to pick and choose how much they want to try and take off of the corners but can get penalized quickly because there is so much water out here! The landing areas are typically generous, however most of the par fours really require some strong and accurate second shots as many of the greens have multiple tiers! It's not uncommon to think one green is truly comprised of 3 greens! All the tee boxes are meticulously mown and perfectly level, there is a definitive difference between the rough and the fairway and all of the bunkers are in fantastic condition. The greens, while a little bit slow compared to other semi private clubs in the area are in wonderful condition and are even receptive to a well hit long iron. I definitely enjoy myself out here every time and all of the support staff inside and out are wonderful. The players assistant even made it to our group 4 times during our round. Don't forget lunch upstairs, the wait staff is quick and accommodating and they don't make mistakes with orders. Our group never had to ask for a beverage refill. I definitely suggest playing The Venetian while it's available to the public!

This is the best course in the area, even better than the private Plantation Golf Course in Venice. I was so impressed I'm thinking about joining in the fall. The greens rolled pure and consistent on every hole. I never had a bad lie on any fairway and I never saw any bad tee boxes. Great layout, definitely worth the visit, don't miss this opportunity to play it before it goes back private in the fall.

Greens a little hairy and some dead spots in fairways but great layout and excellent clubhouse for the 19th hole.

We really enjoyed our round of golf at Venetian Golf. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this course to my friends.

Truly a 5* establishment! From the washrooms to the service to the practice areas to the course itself. Conditions couldn't of been better! Difinatly a must!

I usually don't like courses that have a lot of houses on them but somehow it seemed understated I also thought this was an upscale course for a housing development

First time to play this course and I am definitely going back! I have played several courses in the Venice/Sarasota area and this is one of the best. It is a great value through Golfnow. Fairways are generous and greens are large but challenging because of speed and slop. Course condition is excellent.

The greens are fast, fairways awesome, and tees wonderful. I read the other reviews, and thought there is no way this course could have 5 stars...I was totally and completely wrong. It's beautiful and challenging!!

The Venetian is a must play in the Sarasota area. Plenty of room off of the tees, but there are well placed bunkers you must avoid on most holes. The greens are fairly large, with multiple levels. Being in the right spot below the pin is key. This is a great course, and I will definitely play it again. Easily one of the best courses in the Sarasota area.

The Venetian golf & River course is one of the finest in the area....Unfortunately, we were only able to play 10 holes before threatening weather set in late afternoon....So, I was not able to get a 9 hole rain check form GolfNow because we played 10 holes....
In any event, the club house lady said that if I had a problem with GolfNow, they would make it right....so I'm happy about that....By the way, the draft beer in the grill room is cold and good....jgg

Course conditions were great. Good layout. Will play again.

Very nice and well maintained layout. But don't play from the back tees unless you are a long knocker, as some tee shots require lots of carry. Great variety of holes and challengies. But both a fun and scenic course.
