About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Slow even on weekdays
Fun course. Hadn’t played here in a while since I normally play on weekends, and I don’t have the patience for the 5.5 hours that will entail. So I tried it on a weekday mid afternoon. Not much difference. I don’t know when Mansfield National became such a magnet for poor etiquette. I’m not great myself, but if you hit three times and advance the ball only 50 yards, pick up and move on. Hit the range.
My three recommendations for Mansfield National still stand:
1. Mow the edges more. People are going to look for the ball when they hit errant shots. Mowing the tall grass will help that go faster.
2. Space tee times out to 11-12 minutes between groups.
3. Have a marshal to stop the nonsense when a group of hackers is taking forever. No shame in being bad. But it’s a different story when bad golfers have no self awareness about their pace.
Great public course with nice greens
Really enjoyed this course. It has a good mix of playable holes with wide fairways and others that are narrow and have dog legs. Breakfast was great and staff was nice. On Tuesday mornings the range is closed for mowing it appeared so didn’t get to warm up prior to start.

Mansfield National - Consistent
This my home course so I like it. But, I felt like the range was in GREAT shape this time. Very plush for some iron practice. Always love the grill, great cooks in there. Beverage carts were awesome as usual. Pace was a little slower than I like but hey, they had I think 240 golfers out so it was a spectacular day to play golf with my best friend!

Course in great condition
Really like this course. 2nd time playing this one and it was in really good condition. The afternoon I played was really windy so the course was fairly empty. Finished at a casual pace in about 3.5 hours, but the other time I played here last year it was significantly slower. Hole 5 (long par 3) at times can get ridiculously slow and backed up, but the rest of the course is layed out and flows well.
Greens, fairways and tee boxes were in wonderful shape. It was a really great round!!

Played SUN 3/22. Total round was less than 4 hours, which is great. However…Caught up to the last group of probably a 25-30 person scramble on 6. They kept their pace up until #13, 1st par 5 on back 9. So on 13, 15, 16 & 18 that group WAITED TO TEE OFF UNTIL THE GREEN WAS CLEARED. So the Marshall came by on 14, the par 3. I told him what had happened on the previous tee box. He said he would go talk to them and NEVER DID.
Spoke to pro shop after round. Basically if your round is going at less than a 4-hour, 21 minute pace, they aren’t going to do anything! Told the pro if that’s the case, next time I’m here I’ll play each hole in 14.5 minutes so I finish in EXACTLY 4:21!
The pro shop finally agreed that it was bad etiquette on the part of the group that was in front of us and they would try to do better. We’ll see. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again this week. Greens are in great shape and we’re going back Sunday 🤪

RAIN BILL
Booked this Tee time 7 days in advance. Weather patterns changed and a storm came through. Pro Shop was adamant about not giving rain checks to the 3 groups people not including me that showed up to play. I prebooked my Tee Time. $92.00 total. Got Rained out on the front 9 and was told NO RAIN CHECK. So you want me to spend money and come back here to play? If this was a $35 muni I wouldnt care as much but $92.00 and no raincheck to comeback and play someday? Wont be back. Do better.
