Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Get out and golf
Course is in great shape for this time of year. Played 18 holes in 2 hours and 45 minutes. Couldn't have asked for anything better, other than my play. Lol
First time time out.....
Really enjoyed it. Greens were in outstanding condition, fairways were pretty good, typical Midwest/Southwest winter time grass. I enjoyed it a lot, playing again this next Tuesday.
Can't wait to return in late Spring - Summer
First time at Mansfield National. We had a good time even with the slow play that we put down to the first warm day in awhile. Right now it's still a fairly new course that almost plays like a links course due to the lack of trees (lot of young trees) but in 10-15 years it should look great! There are a few areas you can loose a ball in the weeds but overall it's fairly open. When the grass grows back in the fairways It'll be much nicer. The greens were about just right not to slow or fast.
To Long
Our tee time was at 1:20, we arrived at 1:00: we teed off at 1:30 because they did not have any carts due to the business. There were so many players that we were waiting behind 3 groups on hole 5 so by 3:30 we gave up and left. $40+ for 4 holes of golf in 2 hours. I like the course but don't know how soon I'll go back. Need a Marshall or not allow so many walkups or something. The pace was literally unbarible.
COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE!!
USUALLY PACE IS SLOW. DIDNT SEE A MARSHALL ALL DAY. THAT COULD HAVE HELPED WITH SPEED. I WILL VOLUNTEER TO BE MARSHALL FOR FREE GOLF.
Nice course, with issues.
The course is a lot of fun to play, and the conditions are just fine especially for this time of year. The greens appear to have been overseeded somewhat recently and were a bit patchy so they were pretty tough. The bunkers were in good shape too, but the teeboxes were very littered with broken tees. fairways were average for January in TX.
My only issues with the experience revolved around service and pace of play. The course was very full, but the only time we saw the beverage cart was in its stationary position near the 10th tee. Not that it was immobile, but the girl was more interested in chatting it up with the other girl working a portable grill than she was in keeping golfers from getting thirsty. Pace was very slow, too. To be expected on a public course, but a marshall or two could have really sped things up. The group in front of us seemed to be doing an on-course lesson or something... and nobody was around to ask them to pick it up some. 5+ hours to play 18 is ridiculous, IMO.
Lastly, I don't like gas carts. The included GPS makes up for the noise and fumes, but electric carts would be a serious upgrade.
Mansfield National - Good for the Money
I played Mansfield National on a cool day in January. The course conditons were as good as could be expected in the middle of Winter with dormant bermuda. Pace of play was good since the course wasn't too crowded.
I played the course because I got a great rate on golfnow and I hadn't played it before. A friend of mine said that it was a wide open bombers paradise. Well, not necessarily. There are some good holes that require you to hit a shot. Of course there are the wide open holes that my firend was talking about. Nonetheless, it is a good track for the area in Mansfield and I will probably go back in the Spring to see it in its normal condition.
Mansfield Nash is a Great Course
It was my birthday gift to myself and man did I have a great time at this track. Mansfield has been a Fun place to play and a challenge. The service is great and the price to play is great. If you are looking for fun and some what challenge day out this is the place. Go play! The staff is great and always has a smile. Thanks!
Great Shape for December
Very consistent greens, overall course was in great shape staff was very nice as well.
Great value, good course
Met with a friendly staff, and for this time of year, the course was in good shape. Greens were in a great shape.
Fine course, in good winter shape.
The Course Was In Good Overall Shape. Overseeded Greens Were A Little Overly Wet And Unrepaired Divots Created Putting Problems.Course Was Very Busy And Play Was Backed Up 45 Minutes Due To Morning Frost. Under Circumstances, Staff Was Efficient And Friendly. P.A. System Needs To Be Upgraded As Tee Time Calls Were Difficult To Hear On The Range.
Good Course - Slow Play
I play here regularly. I'm a 3.2 hcp. If you can book at the early times - you can.usually beat the Slow Play. However if not - get ready for a long day.
The course is usually in great condition for such heavy traffic - but in late summer it can get a little beat up. They over seed in winter so its a little rough in the spring but kicks in by late May.
Its not a difficult course and is very forgiving thru the first 4 holes. It begins to tighten up there after and opens up again for the last 6.
A good value - just book early. Carts have GPS.
Overall the course is well maintenance.
The course is much better than I played last year. The green has improved. Overall is well maintenance.
Fun
Course was very challenging for me. Enjoyed it.Green well maintained and bunkers around most.
Best as can be for the time if year.
The fairways are fine, with some muddy patches that can't seen to dry out. The greens are good, with some neededing to be mowed as soon as the winter grass fills in. Had a great time, besides stay on the fairway and you will do fine. The staff is the best, from the clubhouse to the cart girls.
Friendly reminder, fix your ball marks and dievets and any course will play better for all.
Good course. Greens need work. Really thick and sliw
Like playing course for the money. Good golfnow prices. Greens not to my liking, but overall good course really fun.
Poor pace of play no Marshall's muddy around many greens
It looked like someone had driven a 4 wheeler or something on and around some of the greens. Many of the greens had mud surrounding them. It's not a bad course but it seems like the players here don't respect it (driving carts within inches of greens no common golf courtesy etc). No Marshall's at all. I probably won't be back I couldn't imagine playing here on the weekend with a 4 hour round on a Tuesday at 10 am.
Very nice course in very good condition
Been golfing this course since the day it opened. Love the course and play it often. Would recommend it anytime.
Play to slow and no Marshall
We had 2 groups of 5 in front of us. There were no Marshall's to keep pace of play. Won't be going back.
Great course, almost there
I have been playing this course for over 10 years and this might be the best condition I have seen it. The good: Bunkers are filled with nice fluffy sand and new drains to keep it from turning into the mud pit it has been in the past. Now if they would cover the drains it would be pristine. However it's so much better than before. The greens are 100% better than a year ago when they were battling some fungus issues. You are truly rewarded for hitting the fairway which isn't always the case at municipal courses in the area. The bad: There was 2 singles in the two groups in front of us. I suggested they play together and they did, but I wonder why the course didn't suggest the same thing? The weather was mild, 80F and windy (typical for Mansfield) and yet the green watering schedule seemed to be on par for mid August leaving the fringe area soaking wet. On hole 8 there were tire tracks and mud to contend with. Some attention to this would be nice. I pre-paid on Golf Now to secure a $20 rate, an amazing deal for a course the rates mid $30's for mid day tee time (ours was 1:45pm). The course has come a LONG way, I had refused to play there for the past year so it was a nice refresher to come out. Give it a shot and enjoy the mostly wide open course.
