Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Called National For A Reason
This was the my first time playing this course. My golf mate had played here before and always spoke highly of the course and facility. I was blown away at what I received for the green fees. The course was in excellent condition: almost too perfect for the casual player. Course was open enough not to worry about the occasional slice but also provided some challenging dog-legged "risk and reward" type shots. We were slowed by a pair of high schoolers who walked the course and would not allow us to pass; we usually play at a 3-3.5 hour pace but we finished at 4.25 hours, barely finishing before it was too dark. They offer "Foot Golf", golf with a soccer ball and this intrigued us. We will definitely be back to partake of this as it seemed very family friendly.
The Pro Shop staff was a bit nonchalant, which was unsettling as I noted that it was my first time at the course; I was lost as to where the carts and where the first tee box was. On the course, if you are not paying attention you could possibly miss your turn for the next tee box but most of the pathways are labeled. The cart girls were very friendly which eased my distaste from the Pro Shop staff. They are almost another section to give 5 stars to.
We will be back as much as possible as we enjoyed our time.
Worth the trip -- a real DFW bargain
Fast play, good conditions and a really enjoyable, playable course for a more than reasonable green fee -- what's not to love? I had heard from several colleagues that this was a real find, and I wasn't disappointed. It starts out kind of open, then winds through trees, creeks and ponds with a little bit of elevation change. Plus, the staff is super friendly, food's pretty good in the clubhouse (and reasonable) and right next door is a field of dreams baseball park and water park if you're looking for other stuff to do.
Bad greens full of weeds
Played here 2 yrs ago. It was in horrible shape. Heard things changed, so I decided to give it another try. Disappointing. The greens had weeds that impedes your putting. Fairways were decent shape, but ground was a bit hard. For a holiday weekend, it was empty. Even then, we had a very slow group which wouldn't let my twosome pass. You would think that's common courtesy. They need a Marshall to help with that. Cart girls were very nice +1. Fairways decent +1. Course layout +1. Price/gps +1. Fun course, but for the value. There are plenty other courses with beautiful greens n fairways to play in the area for the same price. 3 stars.
Course is in great condition
Fairways and greens were well kept. Rough was a little deep. Overall a great course. Will definitely play there again.
Scam
Course did not honor tee time purchased on golf now. We watched 3 sets of golfers tee off in front of our group. When they checked in attendant clearly said 5:30pm. My tee time was 5:15 the 5:30 group went straight to the tee box pushing us back. Only one guy running the desk. The place was like a zoo. Very disappointed that I went to this course.
The course is in great shape.
The fairways are very good, that morning the course got 4 inches of rain, the bunkers had water in them and the greens rolled good despite being bumpy.
Greens need some time to smooth out.
Mansfield is, in my opinion, one of the better options on the south side of the Metroplex, with several interesting holes and generally good course conditions. Slow play is a problem here, as it is on far too many courses, and the greens are currently recovering from aeration, which left them bumpy and inconsistent. I would wait at least another ten days before playing here.
Pretty good, Not great!
I don't often play this course so I guess I could have had a skewed perception. I always considered this one of the premium courses near me. The round I played was very reasonably priced, but the greens were in "okay" condition. The bumps made reading a putt quite challenging. Overall, it was a good experience and for the money I payed I would play it again. It just wasn't what I expected or what I remembered.
Ten Years Since I Last Played Here
Got a great deal and played here today. Good weather, decent pace of play to begin with. The course staff was very friendly and helpful. Hit some practice balls to warm up and then set out. No real complaints except the pace of play got longer every hole, it seemed. It was nice to come play this course again after 10 years.
Fun course
I really like this course, greens and fairways are in great shape, good layout, lots of fun to play. The condition of this course is way better than lots of courses in the area, I will continue to play here as long as the course stays in the shape it is in now.
Mansfield National
Course was in good shape and the price was great. Teed off at 12:15 finished right at 4 hours pace of play was good.
Now I understand the video...
As a first timer to Mansfield National, I was giddy about the "hot deal" price ($18.00). When I arrived at the course, I again was impressed by its manicured appearance and friendly staff. I was however jolted back to reality when I approached the first tee and saw the rush hour back up of six carts!
I finally teed off 15 minutes after my scheduled time and played an agonizingly slow pace of play. I hate being rushed, but the chain gang pace we were subjected to was cruel and unusual punishment... The course was in very good condition and the holes were fairly forgiving. I found the exception to be that if you were inaccurate and muffed a shot out of bounds, it was gone. Irretrievably gone despite the ample time to look for balls between shots. Oh well, did I mention that I had time to facetime with my kids while waiting to tee up on #2 and #4?
I will definitely play this course again as I found it enjoyable despite the wait and the in-cart GPS was really enlightening. The highlight came at the turn, when I saw my first ever bobcat. Only in Texas, right?
Greens ???
I would bump up the grade for the course except for the greens, they are not in very good shape. They are bumpy and do not roll very true.
Not what it used to be.
I played this course two months ago and it was pristine....greens were some of the best in the area. Not sure what happened, but it is now a very average course. The greens don't look very good, but they did seem to role true. When your ball hits the green it takes a chunk out of the green. I expected the fairways to be plush...but they were a bit spotty...thin in spots, hard pan in others. There are a number of area courses in better shape and with lower pricing...I will be back playing those courses even though I am a Mansfield resident.
Awesome course!!
Fairways were beautiful, green were soft and ran true. Enjoyed it tremendously! Great shape compare to any course. $40-$50 is worth it. Others courses are charging that much and isn't nearly the same quality.
Greens are better than most!!
The greens are in better shape than the last few courses I've played.
Beautiful course
I snagged an $18 twilight on GolfNow and I was blown away by this course. The condition is absolutely stunning to say the least. It definitely won't be my last round here. I have paid over $100 to play courses that don't even compare to this place. Eagle golf sure knows how to keep a play lush and green.
Always a good place to play
Very friendly course that challenges all handicaps with a great layout. Always enjoy playing here and look forward to coming back.
