Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Good value with Golfnow discount
Nice course for the price. Mixture of Links style and traditional layout. Greens are in fabulous shape, especially for the first week of January. Beware the breaks on the greens, very subtle breaks that can fool you.
Staff is very friendly.
Only real comlaint I have with this course is that the bunkers are dirt not sand, which can make it difficult when wet.
Fairways are in decent shape considering it is winter time and there hasn't been very much rain lately. So you can expect alot of roll on your drives
Decent challenging course but beware the wind if its blowing.
Getting Back To Greatness
I used to play this course every weekend the matenance of it got to be poor so I stopped playing it, but now I must say its in great shape looking foward to starting my PDP back up this spring if not before
This course is in real good shape, fairways and greens.
You better score early on this course. It will bite you quick in the first par three. Do not be fooled by the first 4 holes, you will wish for a break later in your round. Worth playing over and over
Greens are looking good!
I was really happy with the course condition! The course played very well and appeared to be well maintained!
Greens were pristine. But...
Greens were pristine. But recent downpours had made accumulations of dead winter grass all over the fairways and the course had bad drainage. There were giant water hazards on nearly every fairway that were not supposed to be there. They were from recent rains. I love this course and defiantly want to go back, but do not go back after a rain. I loved the shape the greens were in for this time of year. The back nine is much more challenging due to more out of bounds due to very thick mesquite. Nice course. Will go back for sure.
Course great, staff not so good.
We had a tee time for 845am on a friday, but didn't start till 11am bc of the frost, which is understandable. Could of at least had the bar open for us to buy snacks or breakfast. But instead had a empty coffee pot. Nobody on the staff had a timetable of when we were going to start to play. Called other courses and they had started play an hour before mansfield. Course was in great condition. Pace of play was ok also. But overall experience was not good. Do not play there in the winter, unless you have alot of time on your hands.
Still charging a "GPS" fee. Beware of false price.
I don't know of any other course in the area that charges a GPS fee. Beware the golf now price you pay will be jacked up another $5 for their "fee". Otherwise course is in pretty good condition. Fairways are well maintained. Greens are getting better. I would give it two more stars if not for the GPS fee.
I really enjoyed this course
This was my first experience with this course. The holes are long and wide perfect for me, the corse was in very good shape for Dec and our party really liked this course. Hills and greens were challenging. I would recommend this course and can't wait to play again in spring time.
Great course!
I really enjoy playing this course. It is well maintained and the staff are always friendly and glad you are there.
The course starts off with some easy or at least wide open holes for a good warm up and the more challenging holes. I like that. The greens were great and the fairways in good shape.
The price you get on Golf Now is not what you are charged. There is a hiddeen charge for the GPS system which you are not told about.
The greens were nice but the pace of play was 5 hours. We waited on every hole and there we did not see 1 Marshall all day.
Great course. Adventurous in a way.
My friend and I played a challenging but relaxing 18 holes at this course. It was my first time on the course but my friend had played there a couple times a while back. Having the GPS included with the cart was a very nice feature. All in all: good people, good golf and a great course.
Overall a great course that needs some TLC
I got a 12:30pm tee time on Monday for $17.00 via golfnow.com. At this price this course was an excellent value.
Pros:
- At discounted rates this is an excellent value
- Nice course layout - huge potential here
- I saw a sign on the 18th that said you can go again for an additional $15.00 (not sure if that includes a cart).
- Pace of play was wicked fast - I finished in under 3 hours - (could be due to 12pm tee time on Monday)
- Plenty of eagle opportunities for well placed drives on par 5s
Cons:
- Tee boxes and fairways are very firm (firmest I have ever seen in NTX) - you shouldn't need a hammer to get your tee into the ground lol!
- Greens are in bad shape - although the ball did roll (due to the ground being hard) it was very bouncy and the grass growth was very poor - too many spots with just dirt
- Rocks in bunkers
This was my first time playing this course and I came away with mixed feelings. The course layout was awesome. I like how some courses make you think about which club to take from the tee as opposed to just bombing it down the fairway with your driver on every par 4. This is definitely one of those courses. What I found odd was that the club house, carts and cart paths were top notch but the actual golf course could use a little attention in all aspects. The tee boxes and fairways were rock hard. The greens were mostly dirt and very bumpy and the bunkers had rocks in many of them. This course could potentially be one of the best in the area if they could remedy these problems. As it is, I would definitely play here again if I can get a rate like I did today but there are definitely better courses in the area.
Good course for the money
Good course not too packed. Great pace of play. Staff was very friendly. Fairways were in really good shape. Greens were not very good. pretty bare and hard as a rock. I would probably not play here again until they get the greens in better shape.
great
very clean.35 minute from home. It's worth the drive.I love trying the hardest par' three(hole number 10) 207yards I never pared in three years. That's what's make me want to come back.I love playing there. I can only afford discount rate, sometime they e-mail me.OR by GOLFNOW prices.
Excellent all-around course for the value
Always well maintained, great hole layouts and always a great time whenever I make it out to National. Perfect balance of elevations and water/sand traps as well as thick tree lines to work around but still plenty of open fairways to attack. Amazing value for a conveniently located course - one of my favorites.
good course to play
this is a good course to play, not to hard, not to easy. The wind blows here a lot, so some times its a bit more challenging. Always get a tee time here. If you dont have one, they might not be able to get you on. Greens are good, nice clubhouse.
Love the course
Enjoyed playing. WIfe had a dead batteryy so I didn't get to finish the round, but loved what I got to play
Great value friendly staff
My favorite course in the area. Friendly staff. I play it close to once a week. I have taken everyone I know to play golf out there and they have always enjoyed their round. Thanks and keep up the great work!
