Mansfield National Golf Club

I have played Mansfield National occasionally for the past 20 years, but unfortunately that has now come to an end. Played on 7/18/23 and have never seen it in this shape. The greens had just been punched, sanded, and fertilized with a manure mixture which caused the greens to roll and smell like s--t. They are allowing the rough to grow by design, but have taken the liberty of not mowing around the bunkers and greens as well.

I believe that this is an attempt to toughen up the course, but by doing, they are alienating players that love Mansfield National for what it was, a course that you could play and find your game if needed or stroke your golf ego with a low score.

Sadly, we have taken Mansfield National out of the rotation.

I enjoyed playing the course. The front 9 is pretty open, but the back 9 gets a little tighter, with a few very picturesque views. The recent rain has the fairways in good shape, a few greens were a little bumpy, but overall it was a good experience and I l’d play there again.

overall the course was great but things could have been better.

Played on a Saturday morning of 4th of July weekend. Surprisingly, the course played in under 5 hours. 816a tee time. I booked this course because it was one of maybe 2 across all of western DFW that allowed a single to book a week in advance. Although I had never played here before, I was pleasantly surprised at the course conditions and layout. Greens were in really great condition and the fairways were really excellent as well. I was fortunate to play with a local resident who knew the course well. His only comment was that the course generally plays 5+ hours pace. So the fact we got in at about 4:30 was great. Maybe the key is to book an early morning tee time. I will be back.

The course is lovely and has a really nice layout. My group had a 6:30 tee time and started on the back nine. We finished that half in about 2.5 hours. We got back to the front where we waited a good 20 minutes for the four groups in front of us to tee off. Two of the groups had just come from the back and the other two had been called to the front tee. Would love to play the course again because it is nice but double booking the tee times is not a great idea.

I had played the course several times in previous years but had not played in the past three years. The course was in good condition and the greens were recently sanded and fairly quick, compared to my home course. the layout is really interesting, once the first four holes have been played. and require some careful shot preparation before proceeding.

The golf cart, which was gasoline engine powered (I was surprised it was not electric) ran okay, but had a tire go flat during the round. The tire appeared to have been previously damaged but returned to service.

This is a good course to play in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, It has some challenges. It has good layout.

Pace of play for a Saturday is better than others.

Greens are in good conditions.

I highly recommend it.

I've yet to play a course this summer that was in better playing condition than this one.

Every thing was good but unfortunately it was cart path only this day

Course was in excellent condition. I hadn't played here in several years, so I was very pleased with the condition of the course.
