Sundance Golf Club

About
Located in the West Valley, Sundance Golf Club offers scenic views of the White Tank Mountains to the north and the Estrella Mountains to the south. Designed by Greg Nash, the golf course is unique in that it flawlessly blends lush green landscaping with Sonoran Desert washes and arroyos. The rolling terrain of this target-style course creates elevation changes that can affect play. Sundance Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 sixth hole, which requires a precise shot over Sundance Lake to an undulating green that is sloped toward the lake. There are four sets of tee boxes on the golf course for many different options, but the Sundance Golf Club also offers a driving range, chipping area, and putting green.

Good value, nice track
Was a little concerned starting at 12:44 that we would not finish before sunset but pace of play on my day (Monday) was not an issue. We finished 18 holes by 5pm. Sunset that day was 5:34. Course overall is in good condition. They are putting in new white sand in bunkers. Some have been completed, others have not and just have random piles of the white sand in the bunker waiting to be spread. Other than that, tee boxes good, greens fast. Only saw beverage cart once the whole round. Nice views of the white tank mountains for most of the back 9. Would return for sure.
So much potential
The course would've gotten 5 stars except for 2 things.
1. The Marshall was an butt!! We were the 2nd group out behind a single, had nobody within a full hole behind us as a 4-some, and on pace for a sub 4 hour round. Yet, he berated us for being 1.5 holes behind A SINGLE!
2. Seems the course has gotten away from the greens staff. Their way of retaliation? Most every pin was on a crown, slope, or Sunday Aguata placement. Not a good strategy for pace of play, but also nearly impossible to get anything near the pin on approach
Course Great/Amenities Suck!
Had a 7:38 tee time and was thrilled to see the cart girl at the end of the first hole. Unfortunately, she had absolutely no alcohol. No beer, no vodka, no seltzers. She only had Fireball shots. Also said she wouldn't be getting any in!! She also had no food. A couple bags of chips and a few candy bars but nothing significant.
The dude working the counter wasn't friendly and the cart lady was down right mean. Asked her if this is where I pick up the carts and she snapped at me to give her a minute. I just asked a question!!
The course itself was fantastic. The fairways and greens were in great condition and overall the course was outstanding.
Always enjoy playing this golf course, the more I play it the better I score.
Ball position type course, desert areas cut across many fairways ...greens in great shape for end of July fairways were fair .
Real nice course and great value
Conditions in the summer aren’t always
very good in the Phoenix heat - but Sundance is in great shape. 4 hrs,10 mins pace was pretty good. Combine that with good green fees and you’ll want to come back.
Fun course
Very fun course, pretty open and had a nice time. Greens were punched which was rough but besides that nothing else to complain. They had very undulated greens which were tricky and fun.
Needs some upgrades...
The course is in good condition overall. They just sanded the greens but nbd for summer time. They have made some improvements over the past year but if they want to take it to the next level, they need some upgrades like other courses in the area. Free warm up balls, coolers on the carts, working ball washers as they are always bone dry. Also maybe pick up the trash on a more regular basis. Some better marketing and changing up their high profile billboard might help. We were there on a gorgeous summer day and only saw two other golfers. Good for us, bad for revenue. Please keep getting better. Thanks!
