Verrado Golf Club - Victory Course

Course in great shape. The rangers could have moved the pace along better, we waited on every tee box for the group in front of us and the group behind us kept hitting up on us even though we couldn't go any faster.

Be ready for long carry off the tee boxes, lots of trouble everywhere, but excellent condition and really great greens for the weather we have had.

I'm an old guy and should have played forward but ya know. Next time I will and save myself some lost balls

My first time here. Course is in great shape for summer time . Greens are quick. There’s sand in the traps. Great practice range . Friendly staff. Unfortunately, slow play ruined it. 10 holes in 2 hours and 40 minutes . I picked up . Very disappointing.

My recommendation is play twosomes instead of a 4 some with total strangers.

After waiting out superhot weather the heat wave finally broke and I timed it up perfectly 85-92 degrees for the 3 1/2 hours. The starter (Steve) got me out early and I got to play on my own. I don't usually get up to Verrado in the fall since rates go up significantly. Wide fairways not a ton of trouble, greens were in great shape. Views are just awesome. Cart girl was super nice, and beer prices were decent. It is my favorite course to go to when I can get a bargain.

Course was in fantastic shape overall. Some areas were being worked on but nothing that impacted play. My real reason for coming back was my memory from a few years ago of number 18. For me this is one of the best finishing holes in golf. Dogleg right, long forced carry from the tips, (250+ yards), and then uphill with undulating fairway. I happily made the 45 min drive and brought along a gent that I had met the day before while playing a different course. My only critiques would be related serving cans of soft drinks from the bev cart instead of bottles. Bottles can go back on ice in the cooler, cans cannot. Lastly I'd suggest switching GPS vendors. We should really be able to get yardage to the pin, not front/center/back.

I'd still come back to play 18 all over again!

The course was very busy for some reason. That is odd for this time of year, but good on them as it is a fun course. The greens are still recovering from aeration. They are better than last week, but are still slow and bumpy. Putts do not stay on line. The major issue is pace of play. We waited on every shot on every hole. The group behind us kept pushing even though they could see there was a group ahead of us. The Ranger was seen multiple times handing out scented towels, but did nothing to increase pace. 4 hrs should be max for pace. If you can't keep this pace then you are playing form the wrong tees, move up.

Played too soon after aeriation, as the grooves and bumps prohibited unimpeded putts. Pace was great. New GPS and carts are very nice improvements. Fairways were in good shape. Course layout provides just enough challenge.

A group that went out early ruined the day for everybody else that day. Rangers did nothing about it even though multiple groups complained. The course has a sign about poor pace which does nothing if not enforced. Pace should be 4 hours max. Golfnow would not publish my first review about this. Let's see if they post this one.

The greens still have not healed from the aeration. They are very bumpy, slow and sandy. Most of the fairways are in good condition. The carts now have GPS on them, but can over heat later in the day. The carts also have two ice chests which is awesome. The only issue was the pace. A group that started early in the day absolutely killed the experience for everybody behind them. Verrado has signs at the first tee telling the golfer to keep pace. They need to enforce this. They do not. We saw the players assistant a couple of times on the course and he said it was slow, but did nothing about it. The group who started several hours before us backed up the course from the 6th hole on. Their pace had to have been 5 1/2 to 6 hours. The pace shown on the GPS is 4 1/2 hours to play. This is setting too slow of a pace. It should be 4 hours MAX. If you can't keep this pace then you are playing from the wrong tees. Move up!!! Inexperienced/inconsiderate golfers or just plain poor golfers will see 4 1/2 and think that they are not doing too bad being 1/2 to 1 hour over. Most experienced golfers can easily play this course in 3 hours. I have done so many time myself. When it is 115° outside no one wants to wait for slow players. Verrado Mgmt. you need to enforce the pace. Yes, the one group might get mad, but now you have multiple groups mad because you didn't enforce the pace. Change pace time to 4 hours MAX and enforce it!!!

Like this place a lot! However there’s no shade to get out of the sun! No big trees so think about what the temperature is going to be the day you play because you’re going to get cooked by the sun. They do have water on every hole and ice at the turn. Oh ……and cold drinks at the end 😎
