About
Golf Club of Estrella is the very first golf course on a daily-fee basis to be designed by Jack Nicklaus II in Phoenix, where it makes its home in the master-planned community Estrella, and offers 18 holes of par-72 championship golf over 7,102 unique yards. The many tests of the golf course will impress every level of golfer - though a choice of tee sets ensures no one will get in over his or her head. Desert and wash spaces require golfers to vary their shots while they take in vistas from the fairways shaped to the contour of the land and framed in the Sierra Estrella Mountains.
A round of golf at the Golf Club Estrella kicks off on Morning Star, a par 4 that measures 359 yards from the black tees. If you stick to the black tees, you'll need to conserve your energy for The Arroyo, the 16th hole, a par 5 that measures 605 yards. After that, Evening Star, the 18th hole, will be a relative breeze, at par 4 and just 437 yards from the black teees.
Once the round of golf at the Golf Club of Estrella is over, head back to the Player's Grill Restaurant for American pub fare and Southwestern snacks.

Golfer Reviews
Good course. Friendly staff. Great pace of play
Played on a Friday afternoon. Staff was super friendly. Pace of play was fantastic. I’ve played here before and will definitely play again.
Mmmmm
Well for a Troon managed course it was in rough shape. Several greens were being redone, and lots of bare spots. Water leaking everywhere as well. We have played here 3 other times and never been this bad? The rough was 3 inches deep, if ya wanna see a well maintained Troon course try literally anywhere else.
G C E
Saw a great rate jumped on it fairways in good shape a couple of greens were under repair staff was great had one of our group show up late and they let us wait a go out a little later
All-Around best in Phoenix area
The best course in Phoenix area, a true desert course with rattlesnakes, rabbits, lizards and coyotes, although we never saw rattles in the daytime 115 degrees. The Staff have such a great friendly attitude. The restaurant Chef James makes the biggest and best sandwiches and burgers, too big to eat more than half on the turn after the first 18 holes, so Waitress Erica held the leftovers in the fridge for us till we finished the second 18 holes. YES, this course is worth 36 in a day, and we came back at the end of our 10 day golfing outing to sneak in another 18 that o ly took 3.25 hours in the 112 degree heat, as we only encountered two other groups on the course. Golfnow got us on for less than $50 for two at 8am with Hot Deal and other discounts
A MUST PLAY AND EAT COURSE!!
This is a long course
The fairways and aprons are in great shape. The course layout is interesting and I would have enjoyed it more if I had picked the right tee to play from. It is target golf and I have played whatever tees corresponded to the white tees on other courses. I should have been forward one more. A lot of the fairways are out there a ways. It would have been more enjoyable. My fault. The greens were not in great shape. Lots of dead and burnt areas. To thier credit they did not place the holes in those areas. I would play it again and move up a tee.
Not too bad
The greens were iffy but rolled ok. Splotches of dead grass. Some bunkers were under repair and unplayable. Pace of play was great. Overall a fun course with lots of challenges
Like many Troon run courses, there are some areas to address, but overall a good experience. Traditional desert golf, with a few scenic holes. Greens were good and fast. Only negative to the playing experience was the bunkers were in the middle of being redone, but I’m sure everything will be good for the fall.
Great Course
We were greeted nicely at the bag drop and everyone was very nice throughout the day, the ranger, the starter, other golfers, pro shop staff, dining staff. Great tee boxes , fairways, and fast greens. We will be back - and maybe next time take advantage of free range balls with green fees.
Great, Golf Course
This Course is in pretty darn good shape for this time of year. Greens rolled really good that might’ve been one or two greens that needed a little work but overall they were fine, tea boxes, fairway sand traps all were good and the staff is extremely friendly I’d recommend anybody.
The rough was too long ! Difficult to hit the ball out
I’ll call the pro shop to get the course conditions before making a teetime
Estrella is highly recommended
Played 7-21-26. The course is in great shape right now, Tee boxes are leveled, fairways are lush, greens are smooth. The rough is long, hard to hit out of. They did a great job maintaining the course in the heat.
Estrella is coming back.
Having played here about a month ago, I was very happy with the course conditions today. The fairways were well maintained. The fringe is almost completely repaired. Some of the sand traps are getting drainage repairs. They are getting back to premier conditions.
Great time to get on the course
the course is in great shape, the rough is pretty deep and you can catch some flyers but I'd rather have that than the muddy shaved and sparse courses I have played of late. Thanks guys for helping me out even though I caused the cart to appear dead.
