Rating 73.0

Golf Club of Estrella is the very first golf course on a daily-fee basis to be designed by Jack Nicklaus II in Phoenix, where it makes its home in the master-planned community Estrella, and offers 18 holes of par-72 championship golf over 7,102 unique yards. The many tests of the golf course will impress every level of golfer - though a choice of tee sets ensures no one will get in over his or her head. Desert and wash spaces require golfers to vary their shots while they take in vistas from the fairways shaped to the contour of the land and framed in the Sierra Estrella Mountains.

A round of golf at the Golf Club Estrella kicks off on Morning Star, a par 4 that measures 359 yards from the black tees. If you stick to the black tees, you'll need to conserve your energy for The Arroyo, the 16th hole, a par 5 that measures 605 yards. After that, Evening Star, the 18th hole, will be a relative breeze, at par 4 and just 437 yards from the black teees.

Once the round of golf at the Golf Club of Estrella is over, head back to the Player's Grill Restaurant for American pub fare and Southwestern snacks.

Fast but fair greens

Great day. Started slow with 1 hour frost delay but everything was better from there. Stay in the wide fairways and the course is score able.

Greens are insanely fast

Title says it all. Be ready to be putting on the fastest, truest greens you probs ever have played. Get ready to be digging in the dessert and hitting off sand/rock if you aren’t hitting them straight

Fantastic Course

This was everything I wanted. Ultra scenic. In great shape. And deceivingly challenging. The course has good length and the greens are tough to read. There’s a lot of situations where course knowledge is valuable. Otherwise I had a great round.

Lack of amenities

Our round was 4 1/2 hours and No sandwiches on cart and you can not order at 9 for pick up before heading to 10. My husband ordered a hotdog which took over 10 mins between holes 9 and 10 and it was burnt. No options for vegetarian to grab food quickly . The starter was very friendly but staff at the bag drop was not helpful.

Course Still Great

My husband and I played course a few times when it was new. We brought our gown sons to play over the Christmas holidays and glad to see it is still a great course. We went early and had lunch and the food was great and the sitting area was very relaxing. The only glitch in the day was not being able to hit range balls. They had 32 of their 80+ golf carts out of service so we were given carts at our tee time if not a little later. I do feel they should have handled situation better, should have shuttled golfers to/from range (not walking distance). I know the bag drop guys were stressed and they were very apologetic, but it could have been managed better. We were disappointed they we could not warm up. Once we got on the course, we had a great time. Pace of play was great and the course is beautiful and challenging. We will be back.

No range balls available. No carts were available

The staff and course alone were all 5 stars. They ran out of range balls at 12:30. They also didn't have enough carts for everyone. Tee time was at 1:09 and finally got a cart at 1:05 after they took a couple off a cart that was already loaded up. We were all not very well pleased included the CBGs who were put in a tough place because the management dont have enough carts during a pandemic let alone.

The course was in 5 star shape even after it is taking a beating from all of the players that come through there. Greens were fast and smooth. #17 is one of the most beautiful par 3s in the state!

For being a desert course, it was pretty easy to find my ball if I hit it off line, which is good. Fun layout. Greens were suuuuper fast though.

Ho ho hole out on #1 was my gift from Santa, and was happy to break my hdcp. Great weather, lucky to be living the dream. Merry Christmas to all, thanks to the staff at GCE for the attention to details on course and proper cleaning of facilities and equipment..

Worth the Drive

First time playing Estrella, won't be my last.
Nice layout, and the greens are phenomenal....and fast!
Great finishing holes. The 17th rivals some of North Scottsdale's prettiest holes.
The staff is very accommodating and friendly (even though most are buckeye fans)
The Grill stays open late. This is a must to stay and eat next the the outdoor fire pits. Has a bit of a Greyhawk feel to it.
Go early, enjoy the practice facilities and stay late for dinner.
I'll definitely be back (right after the playoffs) ;-)
