Wildcat Golf Club - The Highlands
About
The Highlands Course is probably the more stimulating of the two tracks at Wildcat GC, offering better views of the city, natural wetlands and grasses, and some intriguing flat sand bunkers. Case must have an affinity for the No. 7, because like the Lakes track, the 421-yard, par 4 hole 7 is the most difficult rated hole. Watch out for the par 5s on this one, three of which play at or above 570 yards from the tips.
Getting there : From downtown take Hwy. 288 south for 5 miles to Loop 610. Head west and find the Fannin exit, where you'll U-turn under 610 and drive east on the access road to Almeda Rd. Turn right on Almeda and the course is 3 miles further.

Sunday at the Masters pin placement on a Monday
Really enjoyed the Highlands course. I played with a fellow crew member that I tour with on the road. For winter conditions, the course was in great shape. Some of the pins were tucked or cut right at the top of a ridge or hill, which added strokes. A map of the greens is highly recommended for newcomers. Staying under the hole or on the correct side of the green is the difference between a par and a triple! The staff there are friendly and attentive. The practice green by the range didn't quite match the slickness of the greens on the Highlands course, but I bet that the one right by the first tee did. I will roll a few putts there instead next time. The practice mats had some give. They weren't hard as a rock. I always appreciate that when you're not allowed to hit off grass. The sand was consistent and fair. I will be back to knock some strokes off my score next week!
Slow play
All I can say is you tee off and then end up waiting on every hole from #3 on. it got so bad that 3 groups were on #7 the par 3. We decided to go #12 where it was wide open. I spoke to marshall several times he said a 2 some was holding everyone up. Oh well course is great just need to regulate pace of play.
Exceptional Experience!
From the counter treatment and assistance to the first tee box joining some great guys it was an awesome unforgettable experience. Coming in from out of town you never know whom you'll get paired up with and the pairing was Aces. I've already shared my experience and will make it a point to return just to play this facility. The course was in excellent shape tee to green. A must play!
Lakes is in good shape
The course is always in good shape. Although someone left the sprinklers on too long.....looked like it rained on some tee boxes and it hasn't rained in a while. Greens are in great shape.
Dhigh
Great day! Great course! Staff is top notch from pro shop to marshalls and including everybody that works there.
Highlands is a good course. Lakes are better
You cant go wrong with a round at WildCat. It has views of NRG Stadium, downtown, ..
The only negatives are that there is high vegetation all over the course. If your ball rolls out- the sticker bushes will kill you. Bring a lot of balls or if you run out- you can come back out with 20 balls and 15 scratches.
It's easy to get lost on the course. Not enough Signage. If you're a drunk (or not), keep your bearings or you'll be on the opposite course
Course repair worker
When we played in Hole 14, the workers were staying at the left side of the course although we asked them to stand aside from the course. It was very bad.
Beautiful day 4 Golf
Visiting from out of town & has always found this course to be both fair & challenging. If ever in the area give them a try.
Enjoyable round. Need more beverage service. Load up when you see them may not see a second time.
Wonderful play there!
Good fairway.
Green condition are wonderful.
Green is little fast , which is I like it.
We are 2 some.
We play through within 3 hours.
