Wildcat Golf Club - The Highlands
About
The Highlands Course is probably the more stimulating of the two tracks at Wildcat GC, offering better views of the city, natural wetlands and grasses, and some intriguing flat sand bunkers. Case must have an affinity for the No. 7, because like the Lakes track, the 421-yard, par 4 hole 7 is the most difficult rated hole. Watch out for the par 5s on this one, three of which play at or above 570 yards from the tips.
Getting there : From downtown take Hwy. 288 south for 5 miles to Loop 610. Head west and find the Fannin exit, where you'll U-turn under 610 and drive east on the access road to Almeda Rd. Turn right on Almeda and the course is 3 miles further.

Highlands is a good course. Lakes are better
You cant go wrong with a round at WildCat. It has views of NRG Stadium, downtown, ..
The only negatives are that there is high vegetation all over the course. If your ball rolls out- the sticker bushes will kill you. Bring a lot of balls or if you run out- you can come back out with 20 balls and 15 scratches.
It's easy to get lost on the course. Not enough Signage. If you're a drunk (or not), keep your bearings or you'll be on the opposite course
Course repair worker
When we played in Hole 14, the workers were staying at the left side of the course although we asked them to stand aside from the course. It was very bad.
Beautiful day 4 Golf
Visiting from out of town & has always found this course to be both fair & challenging. If ever in the area give them a try.
Enjoyable round. Need more beverage service. Load up when you see them may not see a second time.
Wonderful play there!
Good fairway.
Green condition are wonderful.
Green is little fast , which is I like it.
We are 2 some.
We play through within 3 hours.
Weather was great!!!
Wild
Great weather albeit a bit breezy. Course was in great condition. My only "complaint" was that we only saw the beverage cart on the second hole and then NOTHING
Booked highlands course, was kicked to the lakes
I checked in an hour early, driving range was closed even with the hitting mats being there. My group and I decided to go tee off at the highlands and we were stopped by a group waiting to tee off. The guys asked what group we were and mentioned that there was an ongoing tournament that was pushed back due to rain… after arguing about it we were told to play the lakes… not a big deal but we’ve already played the lakes prior and it wasn’t the ideal course we wanted to play amidst the weather earlier in the day. I would’ve scheduled another course if I knew that there was a tournament and wasn’t allowed to play the highlands. Not to mention the staff in the pro shop never mentioned to us our tee time was moved. We found out from other staff who weren’t so friendly about us being on the highlands. I felt robbed in the whole situation to be honest.
Nice!
Course was in great shape, greens are a little grainy, but very pleased with the experience!
course good, overpriced
course in great shape, staff was not very friendly. course is not worth the fee charged
Generally enjoyable, but…
Except for the greens, the course was in reasonably good condition, and my son and I had a good time. But the pro shop failed to tell me at check in that the greens had just been punched. So much sand had been poured on the greens, it was like putting on a beach.
