Wildcat Golf Club - The Highlands
About
The Highlands Course is probably the more stimulating of the two tracks at Wildcat GC, offering better views of the city, natural wetlands and grasses, and some intriguing flat sand bunkers. Case must have an affinity for the No. 7, because like the Lakes track, the 421-yard, par 4 hole 7 is the most difficult rated hole. Watch out for the par 5s on this one, three of which play at or above 570 yards from the tips.
Getting there : From downtown take Hwy. 288 south for 5 miles to Loop 610. Head west and find the Fannin exit, where you'll U-turn under 610 and drive east on the access road to Almeda Rd. Turn right on Almeda and the course is 3 miles further.

Wildcat
Got special price of 48$ and well worth the price.
No issues with pace but not many on course, busier on weekends. Course is in great condition, geeens roll well. Only issues, no cart so have to make sure to stock up on water, and new carts restricted in some areas, have to pay attention.
Great course
Great course but slow play as expected for a Sunday. Highly recommend.
Technical hills course in Down town
Nice layout. Mobile check in. South side of town. Highlands has a lot of traps but not much water to deal with. In the hills. Par 5’s are technically lay up holes with dense vegetation between fairways.
Technically challenging for a high handicap
Arrival to the course you pass the lakes course. Lots of parking. Mobile check in. Very upscale to my normal courses. For my handicap it was very challenging on the highlands. Small greens. Blind tee shots. Long carry fairways. Couple par 5s that has to be played with irons due to tight corners. I really enjoyed playing this course. Greens where in great shape to be the end of summer.
Great course
Fun course with elevation in Houston which is tough to find . Greens , bunkers, fairways are in great shape for Houston summer
Great Potential
I’ve always enjoyed playing either course here. Layouts good and pace of play can be good if you start early. However, the last two times, pace of play has been slow probably because, and this is the real complaint, people have to spend so much time looking for balls. I’ve always know that there’s little rough and just off means ball is lost. Now however, you can/will lose balls in the fairway. The grass is kept tong to maintain greeness and the ball will sink down in the stuff and be lost forever. I lost 3 balls just off the green in fringe. No bueno.
Slow play
Super slow pace need Marshall on the course to speed up play
Challenging Course
Played Highlands. Very challenging. Frequent beverage cart access which was nice because day was hot. Good and quick taco at turn. If play guides per hole could be offered in in cart info t it would be nice. Used Roundabout app to get some insights.
Nice Course Fun Terrain
Played this course with my 13 year old son. Lots of rough areas so his accuracy paid off. We had a great time and the staff was very welcoming. Bring some game, and mosquito spray, and you will have a great time.
Excellent Layout
Course is well laid out with city skyline views. Difficult but well planned.
Good layout.
Greens were being aerrated hence inconsistent ball speed on green.
Good course
Greens were punched so that kinda sucked. Said they had done it 3 days ago. But otherwise it was a solid track.
First time playing this course and was very impressed very challenging course!! Greens and fairways were awesome!! Will be playing here more!!!!
Nice course!
Nice course in good shape! Only thing I did not like was the forced layups on some of the par 5 holes. Other than that liked it alot.
