Wildcat Highland Course
I have played here several time and i have never seen the greens in this condition. I meant to call the course and ask for a refund.
Best front nine of my life!
The course is in pretty good shape, a few of the greens have freeze damage. I played the front nine well and I should have stopped there. The back nine put me in my place. It’s golf! Just go enjoy the round.
Some rough spots
Still mending from the freeze so understandable. I’ve always felt Wildcat could stand to let the fairway turf grow a little longer to allow the Bermuda grass to fill out a bit more.
The freeze hit the greens
Putting is difficult when the greens are damaged from the freeze. Slow speeds of putting due to long grass to grow in the greens, otherwise fair conditions.
Incredibly Slow
1st couple of holes were moderately slow. Then remaining 7 on front were incredibly slow. 2 in our 4 some quit after 9. The remains 2 quit on 15 because they played 4 holes in 1:25. Crazy slow.
Worst condition ever. Never again
Absolutely terrible. Used to love the course, but they have apparently decided to let it go to he77. Every aspect of the condition was embarrassingly bad.
Everyone in the group said they would never go back.
Worth playing
Greens were slower today than ever before. They, like everyone else, are getting them back to normal. They rolled smooth and true, just slower.
17 on the Highlands is a temporary green, but that's for a short time.
If you haven't already played here, go do it...great view of the city, nice staff, and well worth it.
Poor Greens
Greens on Highland course were lets say bad, the practice green is about the same BAD. Not a fan of Lakes course and very disappointed rate should have been cut!
Not worth the price
Course in poor condition. Greens are bad, even had a replacement green on 17 that was just the fairway with a flag in the center.
Over priced
Greens a complete mess. No better than a $30 muny. I know the freeze hurt golf courses, but these were over run with weeds, post punch, and one green was so bad they had to put a temp green up.
Should not be charging full price until they fix them.
Everything else ok.
But $100 greens fees should include range balls. That is an absolute joke.
Fun day
Flew in from STL for the day and the staff was great. Course was very good as well. Highly recommend!!
Temporarily On Hold
Wildcat is great overall and I will definitely be back soon. Currently hole 17 on Highlands is closed so I don't think I'd recommend playing there until it's back up and running. However they did hand out a pass for a free weekday round as compensation for only having only 17 holes available. I thought that was more than fair. Typically Wildcat greens are in wonderful condition but this time around they weren't quite up to those standards. I played Lakes a few days prior and they were mostly good so I'm not sure what happened over on Highlands. There was one really slow group in front of us. On hole 9 we counted two holes between them and the group in front of them. We didn't see a marshal drive by until hole 16 when there wasn't much point in asking him to speed them up so that was a little frustrating. But overall I remain a fan of both Wildcat courses.
Very Good !
Even though just passed winter season, course managed wonderful.
Great challenge
My first time playing a full round on this course (have played Lakes several times) and it was a fun challenge. A few of the holes really force you to play carefully because they don't have many bailout options. Course was in pretty good shape overall. Would definitely like to play again sometime.
