Seaview - The Pines Course
About
The lesser known of the two 18-hole courses at the Seaview is the Pines Course. It originally started as a nine-hole course but another nine-hole course was added later and the two courses were eventually combined to form the Pines Course. The course has a par of 71 and it is 6,731 yards from the back tees.
Seaview's Pine Course doesn't provide scenic views but it does offer a good game. Some even prefer the Pines course because of its quiet location behind the resort's hotel and also because of its more challenging features. The golf course has tight fairways lined with trees, medium-sized greens that are undulating, and strategically placed bunkers.

An osprey on the course Photo submitted by Joefie on 02/15/2013
In really rough shape
This course should really be closed and redone. The turf is bad in so many areas and they probably need to start over. Some greens had no grass on them, just dirt or mud. Yes, they only charged $75 which looks good compared to other courses, but the quality of the course was so bad that I still felt ripped off. When I mentioned to some Ocean City locals, they said that the course has been like that for years... so don’t blame it on the corona virus. The Bay course is better but not worth the $110 that they charge there.
Not as bad as people say
Yes, there are some bad green, but nothing unplayable. I found that maybe 3 greens felt rough, everything else was fine for being the end of August. No ranger - 3some in front couldn’t keep up with the 4some in front of them. Had to skip a hole to pass them or else it would’ve been a 5 hour round, waited on every shot for 3 people to play
Good challenge
Challenging course. Need to be in fairways and lots of sand. Very unfortunate that several greens were in bad shape
Normally nicer
The amount of debris was ridiculous but the worst part was the greens were horrible.
Needs maintenance
There was a note on the steering wheel of the golf cart apologizing for the course conditions. So wasn’t expecting much for what once was a beautiful course. The greens were in horrible shape, extremely brown and burnt. The fairways were in good condition. Nice layout that will be much better if they can fix the greens.
What happened?
Played Pines earlier this year and today it was like they fired all their essential staff. The course got hammered this summer. The starter fore warned us that the heat and recent storms recked havoc on the course but they let the grass grow and weeds in the bunkers on top of scarred greens. What a shame. Might take awhile to get it back in shape.
DQM
I’m lucky I grab a great rate from Tee Times. If not I would have been happy. Course was not in good shape rough was extremely thick. Greens were brown with multiple patches of dirt. I think it was maybe 3-4 greens that were not damaged. No way is this $100 buck course. It’s in bad shape.
Good to go
Greens were brown, but very playable other than that 5 stars.
State owned course NJ tax payers should get a reduced rate.
1st timer
1st time at pines course...liked everything about course. Pace of play to course condition was excellent
Seaview 8/12/20
The greens were beat up
And some crab grass around the greens
Poor golf
When we were to start the round they told us that the coarse is in questionable condition. It was terrible, the greens were in bad shape, the fairways were bad, we quit after 9 holes. Complained to the pro shop and left. Never again!
Poor maintenance
Course has good potential but just poor maintenance. Greens were not rolling well, very bumpy and the rough was Not cut down well at all. Also did not clean up any branches or tree debris at all. Very disappointing
Great course but not a good time to play it.
I have played this course every year and always look forward to playing it. Not so this year. Very hot and humid weather turned a course that was in great shape into a mushy mess with several burnt out greens. Over-watering to try and save the greens made the course soggy and the roughs uncuttable so they were deep. The course is a great track and play was good but a big letdown for the way it looked. Hopefully it comes back to its pristine condition soon. Beware if the starter tells you there are a few burnt out greens. Yuck!
Challenging course
Nice challenging course. Grad was super long and a lot of water in the sand traps i am assuming from the storm this past week. Greens were burnt and in ruff shape. After a fresh cut and some maintence i would love to get back.
