SilverRock Resort

About
SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

This was a great par 3! This is zoomed in so you dont quite get the percetion of the distance. A solid 175 or so, over water and well protected. Photo submitted by ThatGolfGuy on 09/26/2016

Metrobc
We had great weather, but the course was in fair condition. Fairway turf was thin with patches of bare soil. Some areas of the fairway were saturated with excess water. The tee boxes were in fair condition. Some were not level and most were worn from play or lack of turf management. May divots or bare dirt. Greens were in good shape and rolled straight. Over all, I thought the course was over priced for the condition. I would not recommend this course at the current price.
Never had an issue...
Great course for my family and friends, only 15 minutes from our house in PGA West. Played in early October, so understanding that the course was going to be in "OK" shape, due to getting ready for the transitional time of year and the forthcoming overseeding. The course was in great shape, with the greens running around 9-10 on the meter. Staff was always friendly, especially Jose, Clayton and the rest of the cart staff.
Nice Course
The course is in very nice shape, except for some of the greens. I am not sure if it part of the process of changing out grass but they were very dry. Not all were that way but several were. Course is not long but lots of trouble if you are not hitting the ball straight.
Beautiful but Challenging
The course was in great shape. A few greens are healing from what appears to be a recent punch but other than that, the course was in great shape. The pace was okay for a packed Sunday. We played in 3:50. Shot 45-39-84 from the blue tees. There is trouble everywhere but the course is more generous than it looks. The best thing is that the big horn sheep were back on course.
Fun Course. Worst Starter Ever.
My buddies and I played a round SilverRock during our annual destination golf trip. Overall, we really enjoyed the track and it’s unique layout. The construction around the course really didn’t bother us. Hopefully the project gets completed.
The only issue we had was with the starter. Guy was the epitome of an a-hole. We were slated to have ten guys but unfortunately four of them had to drop out of the trip last minute. So we arrived at SilverRock with six golfers. Keep in mind, those guys didn’t get a refund. So the courses and travel agency received their money for ten golfers. Upon arrival at the first tee, the starter really gave us a hard time for not arriving with 10 guys. Initially, he almost seemed hesitant to allow us to play. He didn’t even provide us with the “things to know” about the course, which is common for starters. His attitude was very off-putting and really started our round off on a bad note. We played Indian Wells Celebrity Course and PGA West Stadium course the prior two day (which are superior courses, respectfully) and they had no issue with us not having our full group. Again, we really enjoyed the course and rest of the staff, but the starter needs to be reviewed and understand the importance of customer service.
Challenging But Fair
The course was in good condition and the greens were rolling well. The course still has a lot of paused construction that detracts from the experience but the golf is good. The course has a lot of visually challenging tee shots, so picking the correct line of the tee can be difficult.
Unwelcome.. beware!!
Poor service by the marshal.. great cart girl, great starter, great bad service. Marshal very unpleasant and for this ill take my business elsewhere. Do not stock players if falling behind warn and take cart orders in consideration. If it happens again then speed up.. Felt like target which was uncomfortable. Ill take my business else where.
Great place to play
Been 6-7 years since I played it. Course layout is the same but the layout of the pro shop location and amenities had changed. That said, great time to play. Nobody out on the course and was paired up with a friendly player. Course in great shape. Always a challenge. Look forward to playing again in the future.
Great course layout, beautiful course
Nice looking course but not enjoyable layout
Good looking course but overall not the most enjoyable to play due to course layout. Lots of placement shots and layups. Not much risk reward on the harder holes or par 5s just tons of water bunkers and waste area. Overall a pretty easy course just not the most enjoyable to play
Needs work
The front 9 was closed for repairs. Is to open 8/23/25. Lots of dead spots in the fairways on the back 9.. I use to love this course until they redesigned the back nine. I can't recommend it given the fairway conditions and only having 9 holes open. There are other courses in the area that are in better shape.
Summer in the Desert!
Wish we were told that the front nine was closed at the time of booking. Would have been a courtesy to players.
A fun Morning
I was surprise to learn that the front 9 was close and had to play the back 9 twice, (I missed the notice).
the weather was just nice, war but not to hot. the course is challenging with danger lurking on all sides, but really fun to play.
the pace was reasonably good finished in a little over three hours.
Altogether good enough, I am taking my son and grandson on Friday.
Unfortunate surprise
I got this reservation from GolfNow. It did not indicate that 9 holes were closed so you played the other nine twice. I am disappointed with GolfNow not the course for giving no indication. I would not have gone to Silver Rock if I had known.
9+same 9
Playing the back nine twice wasn’t bad. The course is in great shape for this time of year. The layout and architecture is beautiful. Highly recommend this course.!
9 but 9 A+
I love Silver rock although I’m only got to play nine holes. I played the back well beautiful Course beautiful layout highly recommended for the advanced golfer.
Course has seen better days
This used to be one of our favorite tracks in the PS area. Went there last week and it was in pretty bad shape. The front nine was closed so we had to play the back twice. Greens were in pretty bad shape, would not play here again.
Silver Rock... Gold Rating
Was only able to play the Back 9 as Front was being redone but course for July was in very good shape. Really nice stretch of holes especially 10 & 11. 2 very nice Par 3's over water included. Good quality golf cart with GPS. Ample water for a very hot 40 degree+ C day.

out of abundance of caution & proper etiquette, as course is in US, Please include conversion factor to F° when posting in C°, so Americans don't get lost. They see 40° & may show up in sweaters, topped with fleece windbreaker & long johns under non-breathable insulated pant. Could be a dangerous situation.
(°C × 1.8 + 32 = °F)
It does indicate that, you just missed it unfortunately. Always keep an eye out for any addendum alerts on page prior to payment page when booking. You definitely have to consciously be aware & looking specifically for it, as it does not jump out of the page & grab attention, fairly nondescript, can be easily overlooked. This course is never below $100/round minimum though, so at least you got a fair deal despite the surprise disappointment...if that's any consolation.
