About

Length 7239 yards
Slope 139
Rating 75.0

SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

Rude on course personnel

At the 4th hole a crotchety old man told us,” You are out of position and the slowest group of the day!” The group in front of us just got off the green. We played that hole and waited 10 minutes for the group in front of us. Our time to play 18? 4 hours.

All of us were upset. We will play other courses for awhile.

Beautiful scenery with the mountains in the background. Course layout was excellent with the exception of the 18th hole which was

weak.

A Must Play Course in the Desert

Had read all the reviews, and added this course to a recent desert trip with our wives. The place is a knockout - some of the most fun, unique holes I have ever played. You are not surrounded by houses, but instead wide open views and stunning scenery. The green fees are a little high. The grill serves incredible food - highly recommend.

Silver Rock day

Don’t believe any of the bad reviews this course as much as it may not be phenomenal like it once was it is still outstanding! Not much for amenities or clubhouse etc as being constructed eventually but I was there to play golf If you want a great lunch or dinner spot go somewhere else!

Great day thanks to Silver Rock and friendly staff!

Not what it used to be

I’ve played this course several times. It used to be one of THE courses to play, but not anymore. The course has fallen victim to a failed development project and the condition of the course has deteriorated as well. The front nine is still intact and enjoyable to play. The back nine is where the changes have occurred, especially what is now the 18th hole - very underwhelming!

Overpriced

I have golfed 3 different courses while here in Palm Springs and this course by far was the worst. First it’s over priced and secondly you check in at a trailer. There are buildings/houses along the course that have been in a pre-construction phase for over 5 years. I am told the city La Quinta owns the course, which is another frustrating fact, city owned yet high rates, sad!☹️ Lastly, zero onsite amenities. If I could ask for a complete refund, I would. Not happy!!

Video Game

Course seems to have been fitted into areas where no homes or building are intended.

Target golf course with quirkey turns and distances.

Greens and fairways were in excellent condition. Sand traps abound the course. None that I saw or drove past had 'sand'. All were raked dirt.

Worst course and worst value

Abandoned houses all around the place, construction fences along many spots. Landscapers mowing and blowing on 6 of the front 9 holes, diddnt stop working unless we stopped and stared at them.

No clubhouse, it’s a construction trailer. You can’t drive the cart to your car to drop your clubs and the cart guys just hollered “ you have to come backwards in reverse only!” To get back out of the main drive, as they don’t have a sign or say that you can’t drive to the parking, which is along side the cart tent. Kind of an ugly course, an irrrigation canal runs through the place, it’s

Concrete lines. Driving range is a long way and takes a lot of time so be early to drive back and forth. Just a mess, never coming back! Try PGA!
