SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

Target golf course

This course was fun to play, the green were very well guarded with bunkers and water. Definitely target golf.

Only thing was they marshal was pushing us even though we finished in 4 hors 10 min. Nobody behind us.

overall

The course itself: funky layout on some holes;

many challenging holes; fairways, roughs, &

traps in very good condition; greens not so

good.

The rest of it: excellent pace of play (less

than 4hrs for out 3-some; friendly staff, great

beverage cart, and half-way house service.

There are other great Palm Desert courses

that have better layouts with better

greens ie: Indian Canyons, Desert Falls,

Gary Player- Mission Hills.

Course was good but Marshals were not

Many structures around the golf course under construction or abandoned. The pro shop is in a temporary structure. Although the course itself was in great condition, took away from the experience seeing all the frames of unbuilt structures all around the course. The bag handling staff and starter were very friendly, but marshals were not. They told us 4 times to speed up and that the group ahead of us were 2 holes ahead. The group behind us never waited and we finished in 4 hours and 8 minutes. The course plays at 4 hours and 15 minutes so I’m not sure why they kept pushing us. I won’t play here again for those reasons.

Misleading Website

The staff is very friendly, the fairways were in in excellent condition, and the greens were in fair to poor conditions. The biggest problem is that their website photos and statements are misleading. Their site reads: "...the current site conditions and future construction activity may result in temporary interruptions to scenic views in select areas..." This temporary situation has has been going on for 20 years, according to their staff, as 4 failed development attempts have left incredibly ugly shells of buildings all around the course, a poorly configured 18th hole, and a mere mobile trailer for a "clubhouse". There are too many courses in the valley; this one is not worth it.

Good track decent price for the area and time of year

It’s was a good challenging course, great layout , it is important to choose the right tees and not bite off more than you can chew.

Staff was excellent, water in the cooler to start the round and then refill stations every 3 holes.

Beautiful mountain views and overall gorgeous course. Paid 120 to tee off at 1300 hrs, done ok. 4.5 hours. Never waited to hit on any holes and good pace.

Staff teed me off early as I was golfing single which was nice .

For 120 bucks it was a good track.

There were a few greens with some minor dead spots buts the course played fair, the bunkers can be daunting .

Will play again.

Better Options

I have to say I was really looking forward to playing this course and it was a huge disappointment. The staff was not friendly at all and the Marshall was totally out of line. On the third hole he was telling us to pick up play with a Group on the fairway in front of us and the group behind us that had the men and women teeing off at the same time. We finished at 3:58 minutes just under the pace. Sand traps were dirt traps (we are playing in the desert with sand is plentiful). The course is surrounded by partially developed homes where the builder clearly went bankrupt. Upon returning our rental clubs they were arguing with me and the other staff concerning the rental club paperwork that was signed when we received the clubs but they couldn’t find it and needed me to stay until the found to correct clip board. All I can say is that there are so many options to play in the area for this price, I would strongly consider them.

Fun course

The course I normally play at is very long and difficult for women. Silverrock was just a beautiful scenic course that was fun for me because it was much shorter and easier than my regular course. So it was a lot of fun!! Still challenging as it has water and a lot of bunkers.

Horrible a total construction site... really ugly . Had the worst golf experience . Arnold would be ashamed. No glasses, no towels, the first nine was total mess with construction all around you. I did not sign up for this terrible experience!
